Paul Williams: "I Want To Fight Miguel Cotto"

I prefer this over the Margarito bout...Cotto should fight Clottey in March, and then Williams or Cintron at the MSG on June.

I aggree, let them do there thing. Let each one or Cotto face Mayweather then at the end, last men standing, they fight for unification. Of course that means Margarito getting his title back or getting a main title from Cintron.

Paul Williams is really overrated. He has absolutely no real power and no real boxing skill. What he has is his absurd physical advantage and ability to never stop throwing. It is frustrating to watch someone that unskilled and lacking in physical gifts to excel just by an insane ability to suck weight. He is going to potentially beat any Welterweight obviously, but that is because he isn't really a WW. He can get down to 147, obviously, but at 6'3" (don't listen to the 6'1" BS) he just doesn't have a welterweight body. At 6'3" you're big for a damn Light Heavyweight, let alone a WW.

Oscar or Cotto should fight Williams.

Technically it should be Oscar, let Cotto go after Floyd.

Cotto is more then capable of beating Floyd, Oscar should face off against Williams, those lanky ass arm punches aren't as dangerous as they've look, Oscar can handle that weak attempt at power and possibley get in and out and to the side, and off into a decision, possibly a KO since both fighters get tired late...But I think Oscar is stronger in those championship rounds then Paul, I mean Williams looked he wanted to tip over late in the Margarito fight. Oscar has never looked that suspect in his entire career.

Either way, Oscar/Cotto vs Williams would be great fights. But if Floyd stays coward...then Cotto should get Williams before Oscar and since Oscar is the man lol, he should fight the winner.


The final outcome can be Oscar vs Cotto. Even if Oscar loses the decision, Cotto vs Williams would be just as great. It's not like Williams would be able to put on a dominate performance against Oscar for a decision let alone against Cotto.

Exactly. **** is comedy. All of a sudden, Cotto is "ducking" Williams. When everyone here knows his response to a potential match up with any fighter. "I'll fight whoever my team and promoter puts in front of me." Compare that to Mayweather, who admitted to Margarito's face, "I'm looking to make smart business decisions." Translation: "I'm looking for maximum pay, minimum risk." Proven by the fact he only made literally $1 more to fight Baldomir than he would have gotten against Margarito. Mayweather also claimed to "take 2007 and 2008 off, to rest and promote" when asked about a Cotto fight after beating Hatton. Now all of a sudden he's talking about going MMA. What the hell happened to the promotion and resting plans? There weren't there to begin with. That quote in from ESPN today about Mayweather in MMA where Ellerbe claimed Floyd is looking for challenges made me laugh.

All of this talk about Williams stopping Cotto is laughable too, considering how it took him hitting Pakau and Matthysse with everything but the kitchen sink barely getting the stoppages. Pakau being the same Pakau KO'd in 1 round by Randall Bailey and Matthysse stopped cold by Cintron and Sebastian Lujan both.

To all of you Floyd fans claiming Williams will beat Cotto, do you think he will beat Mayweather too? Especially considering Mayweather is a one punch a time fighter now. Seems to me Williams is more of a nightmare for Floyd than vice versa. Cotto will rumble with him, Floyd will more than likely be outworked.
