This should be a good fight. Cotto will lose his 0 though. I seriously can't see him beating the Punisher
i actually think cotto will win this one. I see him doing serious body work on williams which will wear him down towards the later rounds. Williams will frustrate cotto through the fight but given williams vuneralbility to the body i have to lean towards cotto.
Cotto/Williams is the perfect fight for Floyd and his fans. Two guys that Floyd is scared to face, eliminating one for him.
Exactly. **** is comedy. All of a sudden, Cotto is "ducking" Williams. When everyone here knows his response to a potential match up with any fighter. "I'll fight whoever my team and promoter puts in front of me." Compare that to Mayweather, who admitted to Margarito's face, "I'm looking to make smart business decisions." Translation: "I'm looking for maximum pay, minimum risk." Proven by the fact he only made literally $1 more to fight Baldomir than he would have gotten against Margarito. Mayweather also claimed to "take 2007 and 2008 off, to rest and promote" when asked about a Cotto fight after beating Hatton. Now all of a sudden he's talking about going MMA. What the hell happened to the promotion and resting plans? There weren't there to begin with. That quote in from ESPN today about Mayweather in MMA where Ellerbe claimed Floyd is looking for challenges made me laugh.
All of this talk about Williams stopping Cotto is laughable too, considering how it took him hitting Pakau and Matthysse with everything but the kitchen sink barely getting the stoppages. Pakau being the same Pakau KO'd in 1 round by Randall Bailey and Matthysse stopped cold by Cintron and Sebastian Lujan both.
To all of you Floyd fans claiming Williams will beat Cotto, do you think he will beat Mayweather too? Especially considering Mayweather is a one punch a time fighter now. Seems to me Williams is more of a nightmare for Floyd than vice versa. Cotto will rumble with him, Floyd will more than likely be outworked.
I also like Paul Williams' way of going about things, he isn't afraid to put his 0 on the line, if he gets through Quintana wish won't be as easy as some may think I think Cotto is a must for his next fight, he would have desrved the shot at Cotto.

The truth has been spoken. Floyd is not my kind of fighter... I see things in his eyes that are not becoming of a fearless champion. And yes, Margarito had his shaking when they spoke.
LMAO @ the mongrelized Obruni trying to insult me in his "native" language. Enough Wishful thinking. PW is not my hero, but if you genuinely feel that Cotto would "destroy him" , then you should support this potential match up and encourage your Puerto rican compatriot to stop ducking him!
At the end of the day, that fight is a foregone conclusion. We can expect Cotto on the canvas, bleeding and holding his shattered jaw, then getting up and apologizing to his disappointed PR fans in horribly broken English.
Borken English perhaps, but Cotto unlike you OR mayweather speaks his mother language and not one ASSIGNED to him by Master. Oh shi!!!!!
I feels like Cotto's attempt at English is still much more respectable than Ebonics.
You don't really think Cotto is afraid do you? And how would Floyd shatter anybody'd jaw??? THat's a Cotto trick son.
Hey, beans and rice, no I'm talking about Cotto. And of course Cotto doesn't have Baldomir on his list, which is why he's left with a paper championship left over from Floyd's (would be) unification, from Judah's paper belt and Baldomir's WBC (after he refused to pay and keep the IBF and WBA). On Cotto's record we see either guys coming off losses, faded champs, or contenders 10 pounds lighter than he is and barely coming out of the amateurs.
Mayweather has never fought older or faded opponents and his first time really was at the higher weight divisions and they just so happened to own legitimate belts and bring **** loads of money, but right afterwards he fights a prime opponent his age and size. Beats all of them with no trouble while Cotto barely gets past them. Almost getting his head knocked off by Corley, Torres, and Judah, and eeking a decision over a past his prime, 36 year old Mosley. Cotto has never beaten a prime fighter of equal age and promise, which is why they are ducking Paul Williams and his fans don't want to see that fight.
Paul Williams owns Cotto.
100% truth.
Mr. I drive a 1990 Honda Accord with 20" chrome rims, exhaust and a Puerto Rican flag hangin from my rear view mirror AKA CottoBreaksMen is all torn up inside about this too.
