    Mayweather is better technical fighter, Jones is more naturally gifted its hard to say both were fantastic at there weight class.

    Power = Jones
    Speed = Even
    Reflexes = Roy Jones
    Defense = Mayweather
    Chin = Mayweather

    Its hard one to call just depends on your taste i guess, do you like textbook fighter aka Mayweather. Or do you like naturally talented fighter aka Jones.

      pbf is the better pure boxer as he is so fundamentally sound, and roy great in his own right but his athleticism allowed him to get away with things that are not necessarily text book. so as far as a better fundamental and trained boxer i think pbf wins! that being said i think as it stands right now that roy is higher p4p on the all time list than pbf. in his prime roy was untouchable!

          Mayweather. Even without his athleticism, the fundamentals and the mental prowess he had would allow Mayweather to excell. Without the athleticism, Roy Jones would be what he is today.

            Not a hard question. Floyd is the far superior technician; Roy the greater overall athlete. Floyd will have greater staying power because he has no real flaws. Roy had plenty of defensive flaws that eventually got exploited (as many predicted) when he slowed down. That won't happen to Floyd because he is better schooled. I think history will be kinder to Floyd when its all said and done.

              to say pbf has a better chin than roy is a tad ridiculous... roy DID take heavyweight right hands.... i HIGHLY doubt a true 140 lb pound fighter can take a right hand from a 240 pound fighter....

                lol? everyone has key ingredients in there game that make them who they are... no kidding if you take it away there less of a fighter... a huge portion of mayweathers talent is based on his speed and athleticism as well.... the reason he can duck out of the way from those shots and use that shell.. is his speed

                  Floyd tends to have brittle hands. His fault or not, that's a flaw. He also can get TOO defensive if he's allowed to. He could, technically, lull himself to sleep and get caught with something. He also has problems with dealing with someones jab, if it's a decent one. De La Hoya and Judah had success with that. They didn't have the stamina, but it's not hard to find a guy who has stamina and a decent or better jab (See, Paul Williams) Not saying Williams would beat him, just saying.

                  Flaws, he has.

                  Also, as he ages, his shoulder-roll defense might not cut it. You have to be VERY alert to pull that off. Older guys aren't always that alert.

                    lets also not forget you guys are bringing up 35 year old roy jones and not 28 year old roy jones.... floyds 30.... lets see if were still saying the same things 5 years from now.... its not real fair to compare an out of prime roy to a prime floyd
