    Ali was 'The Greatest'.

I laugh my ass off every time I hear that.

Nothing more than a blown up welterweight with a ****ty left jab.

I've heard that as well. However, who hit Pedro? How big are Pedro's testicles: some guys have cranberry size nuts, others, apple size nuts.
Maybe some nuts are right up against the cup, while others are ****** in a few inches away.

How many times was he hit. Does it make a difference on what part of the cup, for instance, if you are hit with an uppercut on the lowest part, the punching moving upwards, does it make a difference?

There is also a psychological effect. Have someone just fake shot to the nuts, watch your reaction and feel the ghost of pain.

I agree to an extent, but I think if you can punch like Mayorga against a dude who can't punch, then you stand a chance.

          Hamed got schooled by Barrera.

This is one of the biggest myths ever. Hamed just never responded to Barrera's punches. Though Hamed was the aggressor in the fight he was just unable to fight inside against MAB.

95% of fights can end with the first punch landed, which I've seen many times over by people that do know how to fight.

The first three things I learned was this: (1) try to avoid a fight if you can (2) If you cannot, the fight starts the moment you feel threatened. (3) Throw the first punch, chances are, you win.

The ones that don't, well, lots of wild swings and rolling on the ground looking for pennies.

Hamed lost all the rounds in that fight bar one. Therefore Hamed got schooled.

Lennox Lewis couldn't take a punch is definately one of the biggest boxing myths in recent memory.
I agree. If we look at both punches landed, and who they were landed by, it happens.

Oliver McCall is a big MF and so is Rahman. Oliver's punch, Lennox didn't even appear to see it coming, and McCall had full force behind it. Rahman, he loaded it up and unloaded on a direct shot to Lewis's exposed chin, which he was actually coming into since he bounced off the ropes a bit prior to the punch landing.

Media hype was Ali, media hype. Lots like The Beatles in music circles.

As for me knowing **** about boxing, quiz me on anything boxing-like...anything. I'm sure you'll discover I know far more about boxing than you suspect.
