At the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Joshua Clottey (33-2, 19KOs) won a twelve-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Shamone Alvarez (19-0, 11KOs) to become the mandatory challenger to IBF welterweight champion Kermit Cintron (29-1, 27KOs). [details]

That was a ridiculously boring fight. Switched it off after the 6th when I knew Clottey wouldn't and couldn't finish him. -
If Clottey is smart, he will go after Cintron first. Kermit can't fight at all on the inside and Clottey can handle his power on the way in. This will set up more money for the Cotto fight, which will be much tougher for him.Comment

yeah have to agree with both comments
"Cotto is the much bigger fight, Cintron is probably the more winnable fight."
I agree with this statement whole heartedly ... I just wonder if Clottey sees it the same way
*if Joshua can catch Kermit on his return bout, I think Clottey could pull the upset.Comment

I basicly did the same. Went down stairs and got some munchies just in case there was a late KO. Boring fight. It seems Clottey doesn't have the power to stay with the top names. He loses to Cotto, or Cintron. (not to mention Paul and Floyd.)Comment

I agree with that. Cintron meeds a "check tuneup bout" first. Maybe give Feliciano a rematch and this time KO his ass in the first round. lol.
If clottey figts Cotto, I would love to see Cintron-Collazo.Comment

I've always felt that without debate, Joshua Clottey is the most under-rated welter weight out there. Hopefully Clottey is able to get the Cotto fight. Both are inside fighters that ****, ****, **** to the body! What an exciting fight. Please let this one materialize!Comment

I guess no one is satisfied if it isn't a knockout. He kicked that guys ass and won 11/12 rounds. It wasn't the most exciting fight but he dominated quite easily.Last edited by Kobe Bryant; 12-21-2007, 01:53 AM.Comment
