The thing is though, this is not like having a discussion about Bruce Lee where there's little or no evidence of actual fighting. Ike showed his skills, albeit briefly. They're there for all to see. He had no major flaws. I mean the least you'd expect someone to say is the guy had decent talent, but for someone to completely laugh at the guy shows their ignorance. There's people in the boxing game who rate him very highly. This is not a bunch of little kids talking crap here, it's real.

The guy WAS a beast with raw talent, heart and a chin.

yes but byrd had a good chin. Its not always true that punching down is an advantage guys like valuev are so tall compared to his opponents that he cant get much leverage onto his shots. Remember tyson knocking out all those big guys you are trying to sound smart.

of course its not always true. valuev is too slow and lacks snap. in walds case,,,he has speed..snap and strength behind the punch

Good defense/head movement, crazy power, fast hands, good chin. Yea, I'd say Wlad would have had a hard time not getting Ko'd for 12 rounds...
