Total horse****. Winky could not make 147 now if he amputated a leg.

    Let the excuses flow.

Had Winky ever fought above 160? Did Winky have the 20 months or so that Hopkins did to grow back into LHW? Did Hopkins still need to head butt and foul his way to a win?

Who cares, Winky went up to 175 by choice, he wanted to fight Hop at 175.

Hopkins started his career at 175, but since he lost his first fight, he realized that he would have to starve his way down to 160 and fight smaller guys to have any chance in this sport.

He has good discipline and watches what he eats and trains hard.

it's not like he had serious trouble making 160....he weighed 156 for a fight as late as September 2004.

A guy like Castillo never weighed 131 for a lightweight title fight or Tito weighing 143 for a title fight @ welterweight. They were much more "oversized" for their divisions than Hopkins was IMO at middle, even if they started lower.

Hopkins resume is all built around wins on 2 Welterweights, says it all really doesn't it.
