Joe Cortez Did A Great Job

He probably should have taken a point from Floyd for hitting behind the head because Floyd did it some, but otherwise he did a great job.
If you pay attention to the fight Cortez only broke them up when they were holding, when they were letting there hands go and showed some sort of intention to fight inside he didnt break them. Watching live it seemed Cortez leaned towards Floyd winning, but that couldnt be further from the truth.

Again Cortez only broke them up when they were holding, no doubt because Ricky likes to hit and hold, which is illegal and no doubt Floyd's camp talked to Cortez about that.

Joe Cortez did a great job of supporting Mayweather by frustrating Hatton and preventing him from fighting in close! He may have been instrumental in Floyd's win.

Exactly, a boxing match and not a wrestling match. Ricky didnt get the nickname the Mancurian Mauler for nothing.

He was instrumental in not robbing the fans thinking they were coming to see boxing, instead of an MMA match. Holding and hitting is illegal so anyone who agrees with that is bias anyway and shouldnt be taken seriously.

You must have only seen the figth once, because watching live I was thinking the same thing. Watching live its too much going on, youre watching the fighters and can get distracted by Cortez, but once I know how the fight would play out, I watched Cortez and he only broke them when they were holding and not working. Youre supposed to break fighters when the ARE holding like Cortez did, not negate a possible foul which is hitting and holding.

Referees are supposed to give the boxers a chance to fight out of a clinch, not break it up before it even really happens. Cortez was way too intrusive and did an awful job for a fight of this magnitude.
