Junior Witter Jumps in, Calls Out Malignaggi

Good, Hatton had his chance to fight witter and he didn;t. Both witter and malignaggi have titles so if they are bth on the line hatton will have to fight the winner if he wants to be the best light-welterweight again. So witter is trying to get the fight with hatton in my opinion

The Same Corely who 3-3 in his six fights leading up to Witter (this gets you a Shot at a belt???) and is Now 3-6 in his last 9 fights..

Before Corely.. Witter LOST 2wice.. and was Given a Gift BOTH times.. especialy in the Koletnik fight.. Which was a Blatant Hometown Robberey


He KO'd aGlass Chinned Harris.. But so Did Maussa NUff said on that one..
He has also LOST to Zab Judah....

Does this sound like A world beater to you???

Who Obviously needs hatton Way more than Hatton needs him..

Witter is the no1 contender at the weight and for me that’s enough to get a fight with hatton. If he cant he should fight one of the other title holders if he wins he can force hatton into a fight.
Another much avoided fighter at the weight is Ajose Olusegun i would like to see him fight rees but if you think witter can’t get a fight, Olusegun is in an even worse position no one wants to fight him at all.

I doubt Malignaggi takes this fight if he knows Hatton's already looking to fight him. Paulie really doesn't need to do anything else to get a fight with the top name in that division so why risk fighting Witter when the biggest "payday" of your career is looking to fight you? Witter is utterly desperate it seems right now and his 4th grade antics to "steal" Malignaggi away are ridiculous. I doubt we'll see this fight come to fruition before a Malignaggi/Hatton showdown anyways. However, should Paulie lose I could see this scenario panning out because it's doubtful Hatton will go for Witter next.

Junior's had his moments of petulance, and I don't doubt there is a level of envy coming from his side - but I'm not convinced it has anything to do with Hatton's 'popularity' per se. I'm also not convinced that his conduct is so much worse than that of many other fighters when faced with a scenario they deem unfair or unrepresentative of how things really are.


I'm interested in who the better boxer is. I don't see how anyone could not be interested, or not be fascinated by the prospect of a fight between the two. Hatton and Junior have to meet before Ricky calls it a career, and sooner rather than later, while both fighters are still at something approaching their best.



But, I can see how from your perspective, having invested a certain amount of emotional energy into the perceived 'feud' between them, the thought of Junior getting a shot at Hatton and actually beating him might be a sickening one.

He is better off fighting Rees or Toress to unify the belts, make A ****ING NAME FOR YOURSELF and maybe Hatton will give you that shot. Mal knows he would be making his biggest payday fighting Hatton so I would expect him to take that fight when the time comes.

Just so You know... I am no fan Of Ricky Hatton either...

I am just calling it for what it is.. Envy and jealousy.. I am not saying Witter's Behaviour is unique.. I just dont like the Guy... These things happen..

And becasue I dont like him.. I do not wish him any success.. Finacially or In the ring...

Do I think Hatton can beat HIm??.. Quite possibly... It's very much a clash of styles.. and hard to predict....

I would have been more eagar to see this Fight.. if Floyd Mayweather hadn't already Knocked Hatton off his high horse... Now Witter needs a slapping.. But I dont want to see him get paid mega Bucks.. to get that slapping..

Agreed. If Hatton was to deal with Paulie as expected and Junior beats another beltholder (Torres would be the bigger achievement, though Rees would probably get more attention at home), then the Hatton/Witter fight is unavoidable.
