    Larry Holmes and Wlad Klitschko

Larry Holmes was champ after the greatest Muhammad Ali but never got respect because the talent in the division and the guys he beat weren't all that. Wlad Klitschko was champ after a great champion Lennox Lewis and he hasn't got much respect because the talent in the division ain't all that. Yea Larry Holmes didn't have a weak chin and had a record 48-0 but definitely are similar.

Wlad has a long way to go to reach Larry Holmes status, but I will say one thing, a 199lb and a 205lb Michael Spinks would not last 30 rounds with Wlad, no way in hell.

Spinks did very well against Gerry Cooney i could see Spinks awkward style and hand speed giving wlad some trouble. wlad has never faced anyone as good as Spinks. wlad has already lost to fighters that Holmes would have beat so its very difficult at this point to compare them maybe if wlad keeps the titles for another 3-4 years.

The division was different then. Holmes was a 215 pounder who competed with fighters in that weight range. The men who knocked him down hardest, Earnie Shavers and Tyson, weighed from 210-215 pounds. Wladimir is 250 pounds of solid bone and tissue.

I cannot imagine a scenario where Wladimir ever approaches anything like what Holmes did in the ring. 20 title defenses and 48 str8 victories, plus the heart and chin to climb off the floor and prove yourself a man among your peers and critics. Then again, it's hard to see Holmes icing Wladimir outside of dreams.

Guess you didnt see the Wlad vs Peter fight. Wlad got up 3 times and came back to rock Peter in the 12th, and winning a UD. Theirs a pic of the fight in my avatar.

Wlad isn't 48-0 either. Wlad started to get hype, then got brutally KO'd by Sanders, Brewster.

Holmes was unbeaten longer and didn't have to share "championship" status with 3 other recognized beltholders

if you think he's slow youre a moron. he's incredibly quick handed for a 240+ heavyweight and would have just been too strong for a young holmes that averaged 209 lbs at his peak
