Dont get me wrong, I like Pavlik, hes an exciting fighter, and I had him KOing Taylor first time out, but I had Taylor getting some sense beat into him and totally outclassing Pavlik in the second and third fights, and by outclassing, I'm talking as if we put an amatuer in with Floyd Mayweather. I'm sorry, but Pavlik cannot box to save his life.
I have to strongly disagree with you. His basics are what got him to the MW championship of the world. And really Jermaine is not a smart fighter anyway. If you know a guy eats right hands for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and for midnight snacks why not give it to him?

Sure he can't box lol. His technique is much better than Taylor's. And atleast he has an in-ring identity unlike Taylor. You never know what you're gonna get with Taylor. His so called lack of boxing is what put the fight away. He knows how to put punches together. Did you see the two timely uppercuts that put Jermaine away????????

Back to the topic. It won't be that much more of an advantage for either fighter. And really why did he ask for a rematch? It's not even for the belt. Jermaine was supposed to be the man of the division.

I just see Taylor gassing out again. Since Hopkins 1 he has gassed out at the halfway point in every fight. It's not gonna be any different.

            Pavlik-almost ko'd
            Taylor-was ko'd

Anyway the rematch is still up in the air but i'm going for Pavlik by ko again. Will have to see how that lost affected Taylor.

It's one thing to get there, another to stay there.

I'm curious to see how Pavlik would do with an extra voice in his camp.

It’s good to stay loyal to those who were there from the start and you can continue to have them near you, but it’s your ass in the ring taking the punches, your career, so health is first when you are a boxer.

Sure, it could hurt him like Taylor, but my guess is that Pavlik is better at listening and isn't intimidated by a bigger personality.

It would be cool to see Pavlik fight more like a prime Hopkins: chin tucked, eyes up, tight defense, aggressive countering, etc.

what do you guys think about this...

bhop somehow beats calzaghe... and goes back down to 160 to fight pavlik for his belt again...thatd be great.. as much as bhop annoys the **** out of me with his 3 hour speeches..

actually scratch the whole idea.... bhop would still be talking in his death if he accomplished all that

Bad idea to move back down in weight, especially at Hopkins age. Roy, Tarver, remember?

Hopkins used the same method/trainer as Roy to increase weight...he isn't good at bringing fighters back down in weight from what I hear.

                  No way at 160.

                  Prime vs. Prime, Hopkins wins.

I think Pavlik will completely dominate Taylor this time. He'll try to run, but he won't be able to hide.
