Golota fouls when he realizes that he no longer wants to be in a fight and needs a cop out. Cotto, like Tito or Casamayor, uses roughhouse and questionable punch placement to rattle a surging foe. Big difference, there is no tactic in what Golota does.

Golota used to fight in the streets of Poland (from what I've heard).

He developed his 'fighting instinct' there (which was to headbutt, punch low, bite, whatever to get back in the fight) and it never truly got shaken off of him until late in his career.

Like I said, Cotto is smart about it unlike Golota. Golota was just a dirty fighter who did everything he could in a fight.

It was not a 'cop out' in my opinion.

When he wanted out of the Grant fight (after he was knocked down), he simply quit. Same against Tyson.

Against Bowe he low blowed because he couldn't get Bowe out of there and Bowe was still punching back.
I guess that was a 'sign' of wanting to get out of the fight but I think it was more about Golota turning back into a bar brawler and trying to end it in any way possible.
It's essentially that, wanting to get out of a fight but I doubt he actually wanted to lose that fight. He just didn't think about the consequences at that point.

Golota also bit a guy (Pou'ha) and headbutted another early in his career and beat them both.
He was a mess and I wonder how he always got fights despite all the stuff he did in the ring (probably because he sold tickets).

Margarito

Those 3 should be at 154, but if they can make 147 at the weigh-in it's legit. They will give trouble to anyone at 147, not just Floyd.

How about Joshua Clottey? That guy is ****ing huge too.

Clearly if Floyd stood and fought with Cotto, he would get hurt, but his defensive-minded fighting could give him a win over Cotto that would look something like Baldomir or De La Hoya, depending on how competitive the fight was. Then again, Cotto's accuracy could also break Floyd down even if he didn't stand and fight.

So many possibilities, which is why we all want to see this fight so ****ing bad.

He found a LOT of suckers who pushed all-in on Ricky Hatton. A LOT. I remember he got up to like 7 or 800K just off of that fight.

He is the master at maximizing his win percentage for the odds he gives/gets.

it's true. this is a fight that would bring not only lots of attention to Floyd, but also lots of cash. Thoose are two things Mayweather cares about the most. Floyd would get crucified and he knows it. That's why he wont take the damn fight.
