U have to compare opponents though. Tyson, Holyfield, Oscar all put up consistantly high numbers regardless of thier opponent. U also have to factor in that in the 90's, the majority of people who watched ppv fights, did so on "hotboxes" HBO must've been shortchanged by MILLIONS of buys in those days.

Yes but that includes the DLH fight... Which we all know who was the attraction of that fight..

This fight is a Single purse.. Which is Top 5 for Hatton..

      Good year for Floyd

      Great FIGHT for Hatton

Fair enough, if you change good to GREAT year. Honestly, highest grossing PPV, followed by the number 2 fight of the year. That's GREAT. Not good.

Hatton had a decent fight. I doubt he made more. Nonetheless, it's still a fair enough argument.

Nonetheless, that doesn't change the fact. it sucks, or whatever. I really am not EXACTLY worried about the business side of the sport. But what's fair is fair.

Mayweather is a draw. Should he be bigger? Maybe. But he's already a big draw, as is.

These are great numbers, I cant remember a fight after Lewis vs Tyson. Where a fighter besides Delahoya pulled these kind of numbers.

This is acctually the biggest PPV ever for a non-heavyweights not named Delahoya.

I thought this was gonna do great! It did very well in Las Vegas, I'll tell you that much.. Well at least everyone I knew was talking bout it even people who don't really watch boxing all that much. Then again, Vegas was hosting the match and whenever theres a big fight in UFC or Boxing people know about it so I dunno. I just thought it was gonna do way better in the states with all the promotion.
Hey it did great in the U.K. though considering the size of the country!

Yeah. It did great everywhere it counted. Great numbers, everyone got paid and it's good news for boxing. It's sad that people want to make this less than it is.

As far as the UFC thing, that's sad that an alleged boxing fan would go to UFC just to take a jab at Mayweather. Pathetic.
