HOF or not, there really is no doubt that Hopkins is an ATG. He's accomplished a lot, has a lot of skill, and the "they were just blown up welters and tarver was just overrated" are horrible arguements.

I'm really glad the internet wasn't in the Lenoard/Hagler era or the Ali. They'd probably be getting a lot more **** if they did. Especially Hagler who would probably be accused of beating blown up welter weights. It's insane, yes, but I wouldn't doubt people who would hate on him.

Fighters are apperciated a lot more after their retired.

Calzaghe should fight someone who isn't over the hill or at least more fighters that people have heard of if he wants to get credit outside of the UK. His resume is straight up butt. Sad thing is...B-hop will still give him a fight at 43. LMAO!!!

If you think Bhop vs Calzaghe is going to be a blowout then you are surely mistaken. Its going to be close. I don't have a problem with people thinking Calzaghe winning, but it's gonna be a close dirty fight.

I can see BHop pulling one out via spousal abuse. Calslappy hasn't faced anyone like BHop. He's much smarter than the average bear and he sure ain't a Contender kid.

Because people on Hop's resume are really well known, right?

I think people forget that Hopkins fought before they saw him at 40 years of age. In his middleweight prime, when he was beating undefeated fighters and champions with pressure and the same defensive skill he shows today, boxing folks in the know knew he was something special. I guess most people here haven't seen any other fights apart from maybe 'Tito', DLH, Tarver and Winky.

It's unfortunate so many people can't recognise that at 43 years of age the guy is better than most fighters could ever hope to be in their absolute prime years. Whether he's not as active as he used to be or not, he is still capable of defeating anyone at the highest level of competition.

I can't understand why more people aren't stunned by the fact he's still able to do what he does at his age. I thought as boxing fans, supposedly people who like boxing in all it's facets, we would all be in awe of what he is still accomplishing and still willing to put the effort into accomplishing.
