Not me, it proved me right. I said he was overrated once people started to say he was a young Tyson...I was right, he was not. Not even as skilled as the Tokyo-Tyson or post-prison Tyson. At least Tokyo-Tyson put Douglas down. I don't even think Lacy, who unlike Tyson was 100% fit that night, landed one shot on
        Joey "machine gun" Calzaghe

I also enjoyed the fight..master-class by Joe

Well In fairness to you... I didnt say 99% of American boxing fans Picked Lacy.. that would prolly be more accurate at about 98% ... It's very possible you are one of those 2%

I said 99% of american Boxing fans cared about the fight...

A few others from what I remember and myself that were "American."

I took some heat in those days for my questioning Lacy. I didn't think the fight would be so one-sided to be honest. I was expecting a tough early battle with Joe taking over after 8, but damn, I was wrong, Joe owned that ass from round 1.

Joe surprised me that night because he was "in the zone" like I've never seen before. Most of his fights that I saw on Showtime were good, but not great...and some were a bit disappointing for a World Class fighter.

Lewis vs. Grant was a great Blowout.

the thing is, alot of what we had seen of joe were those lackluster showtime fights, just about every american writer, even the ones who arent just knocking a sheer american bias, picked lacy because of it, we just had never seen calzhage come out like that.

Wow....they win a couple of fights and think they can talk ****.

Check you history...and your horizontal heavyweights before you think you have actually won something.
