Margarito would win some rounds, maybe 4. I just cant see him landing enough big punches with his wide throwing style. He is more skilled than most people think though. He was parrying a lot of Williams' punches while moving forward.
And unlike DLH, he will keep coming forward and throwing punches no matter what, and unlike Hatton he wont be phased by any of Floyd's punches. It'd be interesting to watch.Comment

Juan your twisting the facts...floyd had already bought out his contract with Arum.....What does that have to do with Margerito fight with Floyd...Nothing. The two where mutually exclusive..meaning he could have signed or not signed the contract irregardless of him being under contract with Arum. Arum wanted him to be under contract therefore he could make more money off of him. It was smart for Floyd to pay the $750,000 and thus enter into a fight with DlH wich earned him countless more millions and also his fight with hatton....As you know these fights would never have happened since Arum and DLH have very strained relationships.....
Mayweather is now attempting to become a business man much like Leonard was before and Dlh is now. I will say this Golden Boy is helping fighters much more than the promoters historically demanding large portions of their purse, and the 24/7 marketing is top notch,,,bringing countless of other ppv buyers to the table, that the slave driver Arum could not offer
I think you may want to look at the big picture when discussing Mayweather,as I dont like him but why would he fight Margerito who is a NOBODY...only die hard latin americans (no knocking that, just mentioning the obvious) know him...He has proved nothing. Yes he is a big body and yes he is a stylistic nightmare for Mayweather, So is paul williams...That is why everyone is now criticising Mosley for fighting Forrest and Wright when he could have been much smarter and gave the public great fights got more money, increases his auro and worth and forced Forrest to increase his worth...Look at it now...Forrest fights Mayora gets beat, and this also diminishes Mosley in the all time status....Conversly Leonard made hearns wait, and since leonard rematched Duran instead of allowing hearns to jump in and fight duran..after duran beat leonard the first time...Leonard camp did two things..Talked up Hearns...made hm wait, and also put hearns on the undercard of their televised fight with Kalule..thus bringing more attnetion to hearns... Steward also knew that Leonard was the name at the time, and focused on ensuring Hearns had a tremendous Ko record. Everything for Hearns was on the line for the Cuevas fight, if he lost he gets no shot at Leonard.....if he wins..then the marketing for the fight is on...Hearns destroyed Cuevas..... Same with Margerito..in fact he is a bum that got beat out of Jr Middle...down to welter...(Please stop leaving that fact out). He was attempting to use Mayweather as a big payday....([please stop leaving that fact out also). He had done nothing to prove he was great except for fight with Centron....NOTHING....Why would Mayweather fight Margerito who is a risk because of size, but he bring nothing else to the table. If you recall this was the judah, baldomir era...in which Mayweather was criticised for fighting the already agreed upon fight with Judah, so he fights for 8mil with Baldimor...who was the recognized champion...Had he not fought baldomir he would have been rightfully criticised for ducking the man that earned...i repeat EARNED the right to fight him inside the ring..not got beat out of a higher division and simpy wanted a payday before he got exposed...which is exaclty what happened. Even after he got beat out of the Jr middles...he moved down...he was given a chance vs Williams and he lost.....Margerito is a BUM...
Mayweather is doing the right thing..except for now he should fight Cotto...but Margerito is right now, 4th in line if at that...Cotto, Williams, Mosley, Margerito that this new kid doesnt rise up over the next year.Comment

lmao, another floyd fan that thinks he knows what he is talking about. Arums has said it numuers times. He wanted Mayweather to fight Margarito next, but Mayweather decided to buy out his contract, "then have to face Margarito" said Arum.

750 thousand just to avoid fighting Margarito then at the 8 million, wow! And yet we see many posters saying how Margarito is a bum, Mayweather avoided a great pay day and a bum, wow.Comment

I do believe that Floyd was worried alot about Margarito back then and people shouldnt rip him for that. I believe people were way too hard on Floyd back then. Margarito was a big tough SOB while Floyd had just got to WW and looked like a little boy that clearly didnt belong there. If that Margarito had asked to fight this Floyd then it wouldve been totally different. If you look at Floyd's body in the Hatton fight compared to what it was when he fought Zab & Baldy then you would see that he has filled in alot. He would definatly be the smaller man by far but he knows that he could handle himself way better against those big guys then he could back then. Thats why he wasnt jumping for a Margarito fight and I dont think he should be called a ***** for that.
There is no way I see Margarito as having a chance. He's relentless but thats it. Floyd is way too fast and his D is way too good. I think that fight would be just like the first 4 rounds of the Clottey fight. Margarito would be swinging all wide shots while Floyd would block them and counter straight down the pipe where Margarito has no defense and unlike Clottey, he wouldnt fold. I also think Floyd can hurt Margarito when he lands a ton of clean shots on him and counters back with blistering punchesComment

I am not a mayweather fan,,first of all, I just recognize the facts. Mayweather was already in discussion to get out of his contract with Arum...check your facts..There was already a rift. Mayweather wanted more money, and bigger and better ppvs.. This would not happen while under managment with Arum as it would be difficult to get negotiations going with DLH and Golden boy etc...
I think before you get on webisites and post 1st grade inaccurate ****..you do your research..
Secondly,,,Hmm Mayweather gets out of a contract for $750,000 .... and does not fight Margerito which was supposedly for 8mil, and he fights Baldomir and gets a title, for 8 Mil a WBC title the best recongized title out there, and he shuts up everyone that said he should have fought the winner of the judah Baldomir fight.... Then on top of that, with in one year, he has now been able to secure over 20 milliondollars probably 30 mil+ because he is not with Arum now...Hmmm I am struggling to see how Mayweather lost out...
On top of that as Mayweather suspected Margerito was a fraud, he had not beaten anyone, did not deserve a title fight, just wanted big pay day and came out crying Mayweather's name...and look what happened when he had his chance...he lost.....for what his 6th time...HmmmmmmmComment

Not gonna happen. He is to slow and his shots will get picked off and he will eat plenty of counters. Margorito has terrible footwork and will get embarrassed. I think Williams already proved my point. He was finding his home on Margorito face so what do you think Floyd will do. (BUST HIS OVERRATED ASS UP)

right may be you are right about that when he came to WW he was a little guy but look at his fight with de la hoya in division that above the WW and he was a little boy ther and he defeated a big de la hoya and REMEMBER dela hoya is not ****ing margarito,if he could outpoint oscar i think he could easily outpoint margaritoComment
