By the way, his legacy will never go farther then Hearns himself.

Hearns fought the best of the best.

I'm sorry but I cant say the same about Mayweather.

I think Mayweather should hang his gloves up, safe in the knowledge he is an ATG.

Cotto or Mosely. Why? How long does this go on, if another fighter breaks through does he need to also then beat them?

Hatton should be enough after the career he's had already, why?
Because Hatton was in his prime, unbeaten and the L/Welter King.

Nothing more to prove in my book.

It wont go long because these are guys he's supposed to fight. legitimate welts. you cant sit there and tell me that Floyd's choice of fighters hasnt been financially motivated. it doesnt matter if Mosley's been ducking him or if Cotto isnt on the same level, it's whats logical. DLH fought Trinidad because Trinidad was a logical threat. RJJ fought Tarver because he was a logical threat. Barrera fought Morales because he was a logical threat. Cotto and Williams, even CALZAGHE are fighters in their prime that have the best chance to compete with Mayweather. Look at Mayweather's last 3 opponents.

Hatton: Everyone and their mother's aunt's sister knew Hatton would not compete with Mayweather and you saw thread's here questioning Hatton's disputable undeafeted record and calling him "overrated"

Oscar De La Hoya: To say that Oscar De La Hoya was in his prime and a legitimate threat when he fought Mayweather is plain ridiculous and ignorant. Everyone predicted the outcome of the fight: Mayweather would score with potshots and tire Oscar out.

Baldomir: Are you ****ing kidding me?

What Mayweather has accomplished is incredible. Anyone with any knowledge of Boxing cannot deny that. But if he's gonna go out, he needs to go out with a certifiable ****. 2 more fights. Cotto, Williams, Calzaghe, any 2 of those 3 and Floyd can break the top 10.

Not sure about your Calzaghe reference mate, its one thing fighting a blown up Light Middle but not the King of the Super Middles.

If money is the motivation then fine but again I feel he has more than enough, isn't he attempting to become a promoter therefore why fight?

no, my friend across the pond, im saying that mayweather's choice of fighters have been fincancially motivated which can water down legitimate options. i said he was an ATG but i personally feel that Mayweather has the potential to accomplish something greater. just my take on it.

Where would you place him on your ATG list if he beat Cotto? Or would he even be on that list even with his victory?
