Well, Robin Reid beat him quite clearly, and I wouldn't even class Reid as world-class. Richie Woodhall won quite a few rounds, too, catching him with a lot of shots. Byron Mitchell and Kabary Salem knocked him down. And most of the fighters he's fought have been utterly pettyful and a waste of time and energy.

I think Eubank would have beaten Calzaghe in his prime. Same goes for Roy Jones and James Toney, Calzaghe probably wouldn't have lasted the distance with them in their prime. Calzaghe is probably in the best top 15 super middleweights ever, but he's definitely not the number 1. In fact I would say a prime Nigel Benn would have beaten Calzaghe too.

reid was a good fighter, he just wasn't too bright. the eubank that TKO'd nigel benn could beat calzaghe. even kessler could have put up a better fight than he did, who won round 12? it wasn't calzaghe, kessler could ahve come abck earlier and made that fight close. the james toney that ****ed up iran barkley could beat calzaghe, and prime roy would knock joe out - he'd have to, anyways, or get robbed like reid did . calzaghe isn't the kind of fighter to give these guys problems, he stands right in front of u and doesn't use the jab

...and like gorgorilla says, a prime nigel benn knocks calzaghe the **** out

I think Calzaghe is kinda overrated by some people, he deserves where he is in the rankings right now probably the best fighter p4p after Mayweather but I dont agree that he's is impossible to beat like some people say, there hasn't been that many great fighters to ever challenge him but I think he could defnitely give trouble to Jones and Toney.

Jones is probably the most overrated fighter on this website as just a matter of my opinion. So many people on here think he's the greatest p4p fighter of all time and that's way over the top. Toney he could definitely beat also.

This is an insulting post, have you even seen Calzaghe fight??

Calzaghe - (44-0, 32 KO's), Undefeated, 21 straight title defences, over 10 years as the Super Middleweight Champion = Greatest Super Middleweight of all time.

I dont think he's just #1 undisputed hands down no questions asked all time. He's had a long tile reign, undefeated his whole career but as I said in the previous post he hasn't beaten that many top fighters. The 168 division has been alot deeper before than it has been since Calzaghe has been champ.

Maybe you can make the argument and he has probaby as good a resume as anyone but still.

lol.. I've been watching Calzaghe fight since he fought Eubank in 1997.. Calzaghes lack of prime quality opposition is what leads me to my opinion. Although he recently beat Kessler, that was good going, but a prime Eubank, Benn, Toney or RJJ would have almost certainly KO'd Kessler. Calzaghe just hasn't fought enough reputable opponents who are in their prime, winning 44 fights doesn't mean much if the vast majority of your opponents are either B/C-level fighters or no longer in their prime. If Calzaghe fights Hopkins now, Hopkins is again not in his prime, so I expect Calzaghe could beat him now. But Hopkins is another fighter who would have almost certainly beaten Calzaghe had he fought him in his prime.

                      (prime)Roy Jones UD Calzaghe
                      (prime) James Toney SD Calzaghe
(Toney looked great against Jirov who is also a southpaw boxer who throws volume punches. Toney actually alomst stopped him.
