I liked floyd for a while, but his mouth did eventually get to me. Also, his level of competition has not been stellar. I give him his dues for this past weekend, but Ricky at 140 would have been a better fight, De la Hoya 6-8 years ago would have been better, Judah was a headcase when he fought Floyd, Baldomir got lucky in that judah was a headcase and wasnt any where near floyds level (though i understand taking this fight for the linear championship), and Gatti... well, we all saw what Alfonso Gomez did to him.
I dont mind the arrogant bit (though i prefer confidence), but i am tired of the Money Mayweather bit. I think we can all agree that PPV and big money has turned the sport we love to ****. It was happening even back in the '50's. Im reading a book now called the sweet science, a collection of boxing articles by a journalist from the 50s and he talks about how the huge money, and on tv fights are killing the sport. So, Floyd, stop throwing money at the camera. it makes you look like a Neanderthal.
Also, step up your competion. fight guys that have moved to your weightclass permanently, not just moved there to fight you. fight guys that arent almost a decade out of their prime. fight guys that dont fall apart in the middle of fights. fight Cotto, fight margarito, fight williams, fight cintron, fight clottey, fight one of they guys that are mentioned on this board as being the best competition at 147lbs. The only people on this board that were calling for a Hatton/ PBF fight were the hatton fans. no one else on here thought he had a chance in hell against you (until HBO worked their magic on us with 24/7).
