I didn't realize this on fight night but...

British people are about as ****ing loyal as they come.

Hatton is lying on the floor in a pool of blood, and his fans are chanting "THERE'S ONLY ONEEEEEEEE RICKY HATTON!

    Damn... that is crazy.

and even though he lost, they'll still cheer him next time.

It would be great if that kind of atmosphere was typical in boxing.

I hear you man... this got me all emotional too, that is pretty damn manly and the real way to back your guy up in war even during a lost battle.

BIGG BIGGG props and respect to ALLLL the traveling British fans, they really made this fight worthwhile for me.

Except when they boo the anthem... that was really ****ty.

I'm not even patriotic (I actually kind of hate our government), but it was really disrespectful.

it's called loyalty, it's the reason why Roy Jones Jr is stil HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY respected to me, even today. I have made it VERY clear I'm a fan of BOXING and NOT the fighters so even I was cheering for Ricky, I screamed out loud **** Ricky Hatton to piss a few heads off but for the most part I got nothing but love and respect for Hatton for giving me the memory, he has won many fights and lost his 1st and I don't look at him as any different, dude is a beast and he gets his respect.. 100

brits are fairly intellegent people, and just like you and I, and the rest of Europe and the world... ya, Bush has really ****ed up our ********ic American good image, I think the American anthem these days in any arena with over half the fans being non-American would get booed.

While I don't endorse it, I completely understand the reasons behind it.

If you've been at any major sporting events in Europe, this is as traditional as it gets. It has nothing to do with America. If Hatton was fighting a boxer from Burkina-Faco (sp?), it would be the same thing.

Well yeah... it just bothers me that the fight was in America and it still happened. I wouldn't have given a **** had the fight been in the UK and they would have booed the US anthem... but coming over to the country and doing that is pretty ****ty IMO.

But I guess I'm preaching to the choir, since you agreed with me.
