Roy dominated his era like Tiger Woods. His opponents weren't that bad, it's just that Roy was that damn good. I'm talking about the ripped Roy that had that crazy line of hair on the back of his neck, remember that?

I don't like thinking about fights like this, because they are not even relatively close in weight, and they have never fought anyone even in the same galaxy as the other.
Jones beat lights out and the executioner. They are more closer to Floyd than Floyd's opponents are to Roy.

I remember him fighting a cop/part time fighter on HBO, some of his opponents were that bad.

Wow. I didn't think people were THAT much on Floyd's nuts.

Seriously, Roy Jones v Floyd Mayweather. Who wins?

If you pick Floyd, you need to either a) go jump off a very tall building, or b) enlist the aid of a firing squad. Either way, you need to eliminate yourself from the gene pool.

I suggest anyone who voted Floyd go back and watch Roy Jones in his prime. Not only did he beat the two next best fighters of this generation in their prime, James Toney, and Bernard Hopkins, he seriously outclassed them.

Did Floyd seriously outclass ANYONE even close to the skill level of James Toney? No. How about someone on the level of Bernard Hopkins? No. Floyd is a very good fighter, definitely a hall of fame fighter, but a Roy Jones he is not.

Roy Jones is the only fighter of the decade that can be legitimately argued as better than SRR, even though I am not of the opinion, the argument can be made.

Fighters get old, like it or not, father time catches up with them all. Father time caught up with Roy Jones, and that does not take anything away from the otherworldly talent he displayed in the ring during his prime.

As Sugar Ray Robinson said. "You always say your gonna quit when you start to slip, then one day you wake up and realize you done slipped."

Roy Jones slipped, and he did it infront of the world.

How can you say Roy when he got knocked out by two people Bernard dominated? Roy had just won the heavy weight belt so its not like he was shot or out of his prime. And yes Roy had to lose weight but thats only because he didnt want to fight real heavies. Bernard improved very much after that loss, maybe age wise he was at his prime but definately not in his prime as a fighter, and Toney's weight was a major issue in that fight. Floyd is an undefeated champion in 5 weight divisions, he's the best, accomplishments cant be denied. No way does Glen Johnson knock out cold the best fighter of a generation, simple as that.

There was another poll "greatest fighter EVER" and floyd got more votes than Ali. I wish these polls were public so I'd know who to ignore.

I thought best of an era meant resume vs. resume.

Anyways, what makes you so sure that Jones would make easy work of Mayweather? Both are so ridiculously far ahead in speed compared to any opponent either has ever faced.

You don't know how Jones would handle that, nor do you know how Mayweather would handle that.
Have you even seen James Toney at 168? Mayweather is nowhere near as fast as James Toney was at 168. Besides being one of the greatest fighters of the last decade, James Toney is the only fighter that could realistically hold a candle to Roy Jones speed.
