only few guys throw hooks like this, few people are off mark when they are talking about just 'diffrent' hooks. Check hook is like a pivot like you would do if you rolled a right hand, usually it is used to trap an opponents hand or counter over a right hand, it is nto 'wound' up like many people throw hooks, it is more 'closed' up. Floyd threw it because Ricky reaches for left hooks and jabs with a jumping left uppercut. Joe Loius also knocked down Charlie Retlaff with this punch.
