"Ricky Hatton is stronger," continued De La Hoya, "he can go in there and not worry about Floyd Mayweather's punching power because from my experience he hasn't got much power. That's going to be a big advantage for Ricky Hatton. I believe if you take a look at the Jose Luis Castillo fight with Floyd Mayweather he gave Floyd a lot of trouble. Well Ricky Hatton is possibly a stronger, bigger, faster and smarter fighter than Castillo. Can Hatton beat Mayweather, he will!"
Did Oscar mislead Ricky Hatton?

De La Hoya obviously didn't feel Mayweather had much punching power but I did highlight on the day of the fight that I thought Hatton's camp had underestimated Mayweather's power and I was proved right and Hatton himself admitted as much.Comment

Floyd didnt fight ODH to stop him and he couldnt anyway with the chin and size ODH had over him so they were mute points from Oscar , same with Baldy , to big and a iron chin ,, this was different as Floyd wanted to stop him and Hatton had no size advantage , Floyd has power when he sits down on his punches and always has thats what he has 80% KOs , not a devastating puncher but he has good power , Mayweather is no 1 anything , he is complete thats why he is so good .Comment
