I knew that the no excuses thread was going to be ****.

After 10 minute, nsb was full of excuses, from the size of the ring to the gloves to the judge to the referry to the weight that was to much for Ricky...

mayweather fought oscar, oscar picked the venue, oscar picked the ring size, oscar picked the gloves, oscar took more money, vegas is as much oscars hometown as it is floyds.

if floyd was scared of castillo, he wouldnt fight him immediately afterwards, floyd was the winner of the fight, why should he let castillo dictate ANYTHING when he lost? thats ******.

Castillo didn't care where the fight took place, but Arum liked the Staples cause he knew he could fill the arnea for the rematch.

If so, let's ALL have a intelligent and FACTS related discussion about this bout. Me personally, I do not think that he HAS to fight Cotto to be considered great. If Cotto wants to be considered great, then this fight would mean SOOOO much more to him. Let me know what you all think. Let's not make up an excuses. State facts, reasons why you think he can beat Mayweather, how their styles will match up, etc. I'm going to start a new thread, just wanted to throw that out there. Thanks and Holla!
              OK

Cotto has the following tools to beat Mayweather:

He does not wildly chase his opponents in an energy zapping fashion as so many of Floyds opponents have. He cuts the ring off better than anyone

His hand speed is deceptively fast

He has a heavy power jab that is very accurate and damaging

Floyd loves to lay on his right side when on the inside, bad move with Cotto thats his power side and he usually gets a lot done wit that side

Body punching- no need to elaborate

              Will to win

Strength- some on here point to Floyd's match with Oscar but Oscar is not as strong as Cotto and thats not his style, he doesnt use his strength

Cotto's defense- he used to catch a lot of flack but I think he showed he keeps hands up, he slips a lot of punches if you want to hit him you better be ready to take some back.
