That's why I want to wait and see how he does against more fighters. All he's done is beat Margarito, whch is a good win but for all we know he could just match up well with Marg. No one really knows.

He was slapping Mitchell around, but it shows he can be hit. Problem is getting to him.

actually he's better then hearns, he's a better boxer and throws 3 times more punches a round, and unlike hearns he has a chin to go along with it. he also has way better angles and footwork

No ******, I wasn't comparing Taylor-Spinks to Williams-Mitchell, I was saying both had a little bit of trouble with their opponents on the way to winning wide victories. Is it true that it probably wasn't in Williams game plan to get hit that much against someone like Sharmba Mitchell? Of course it is. That means Williams needs to do some work on his defense in order to prepare himself for more offensively gifted fighters like Cotto or someone as accurate as Mayweather. He also needs to work on his accuracy, because Cotto showed his defense is pretty good against Mosley, and Mayweather's defense doesn't need mentioned.

So what you are saying is that if an inferior opponent can connect a lot against Williams, that won't hold true for better, fresher opponents? Interesting... Someone should hire you to analyze boxing.

I think that a lot of good fighters fight up to their opposition. I don't think Williams was that worried about Mitchell's power, and therefore didn't concentrate enough on avoiding or blocking his punches.

Call me crazy, but I think Cotto can get to Williams' body and beat him. I think Floyd will outbox Cotto to a decision, but I think Williams is still the biggest threat out there at WW for Floyd, a pickem in my book.

BTW Taylor didn't beat Spinks by a wide margin, it's a disputed decision, and Williams dropped Mitchell 4 times and knocked him out in 4 rounds or whatever...LOL
