I really think you should throw the kid a bone here. lol. The guy just got knocked out in front of thousands of people from his native country and millions watching around the world. The guy would have lost anyway but he definitely got the short end of the stick in this fight. The ref was all over him and the 1pt deduction was unjustified in my opinion. Floyd had his back turned like he always does and Hatton didnt even get a warning. You dont take a point away from a guy whos in the biggest fight of his life in a close fight up to that point.

Hatton was a great sport if you listen to the post fight press conference. He had some time to reflect and relax after his KO and came out very congratulatory towards Floyd. I thought he was a class act considering the circumstances.

I've always thought of Ricky Hatton as one of the good guys in boxing no doubt.

I'd be willing to say he's the Oscar De La Hoya of England or damn close to his status in england.

What other current british fighter could bring their fans with them over to vegas in such a large number (including a marching band)?

Infact they were still playing his song when he lost. those are some true fans there.

I think Ricky hatton is a pretty good guy but you have to look at it like this...it was his first career loss and i expected the loser of mayweather/hatton to do a little complaining.

when you won 43 in a row and never lost, losing your first bout isnt the easiest.

i mean, he went as far as to apologize to his fans on tv...that says a lot of what kind of guy he is.

      he's a good guy.

He is a much better person than De La Hoya, no **** charges, no sons he never sees, a regular guy who does not record crappy latino-pop and hangs out with hookers.

          I was already a "fan".

To be honest, his complaning is the most gracious I have ever heard.

          1) he stated a fact: the ref did a poor job. That's simply true, he penalized him for a rabbit punch which never landed, and Mayweather was able to foul constantly, without gatting warnings/deductions.

          2) he stated that he doesnt blame Mayweather, in fact he praised him and goes as far as saying he would have done the same.

In fact, as I stated earlier in this thread, clinching early was genius on Mayweather's part.

          3) if you read carefully he ultimately places the blame on himself by saying that he should not have those things change the way he fought and he should have been more clever and stick to his plan.

How can you hate on this guy?

Let me say that being also a fan of Bernard Hopkins I really appreciated this usually hidden part of Mayweather's bag of tricks .
