first of all, Paul Williams isnt close to being a Welterweight King. He only has 1 good win and is relatively untested.

And secondly, this fight is all Mayweather. Williams wouldnt be able to come close to getting off his regular 90+ punches a round.

Look at Kelly Pavlik. As soon as he stepped up to the level of Jermain Taylor, he wasnt able to get off his usual 90+ punches a round. He had to go back to the basics and use his defensive skills and boxing techinque.

Williams has never had to do that. He's never fought a boxer on the level of Mayweather.

Williams has a good chin, but he leaves himself wide open. Mayweather would pick him apart and maybe stop him late if he decides to go for it

i would pick margarito or williams over mayweather because they are to big and to strong for mayweather. they are natural welterweights. mayweather has only been picking on guys who started at 140 like judah mitchell and now hatton and a bum called baldomir. i would like to see mayweather really challenge himself against a true welterweight challenge.

You're an idiot...Kelly Pavlik has no place in this discussion. If he got off the punches vs Margarito, he could do vs a guy who pot shots and dances. Margarito is a bigger test then Money Midget...Williams would destroy him

by the way "kball", beating Margarito is more then anything Floyd has done at 147. Would Hatton, Baldomir or Judah beat Tony?? No

wow, way to argue ur point, calling me an idiot. lol

Margarito comes forward, he isnt a boxer by any stretch of the imagination, and he CERTAINLY wasnt a boxer in that fight.

See, you just really dont know what ur talking about here.

IF u did, and were a Williams fan, u would concede that Williams wouldnt be able to get off that many punches. Mayweathers defense is unbelievable.

Williams would be the one coming forward and mayweather would dance to the sides and pot shot him and then get out of the way. Williams is wide open for that kind of attack.

And, if ull notice, which i probably didnt, Mayweather has problems with a good stiff jab. Williams's only hope would be to get that stiff jab in there to get his punches off. BUT, Williams jab is nothing better then a flick. It works when fighters like Margarito are walking right into you, but its gonna work in the least when ur the one coming forward.

If williams was able to pull it off, it would be an extraordinary upset IMO.

Man, stfu with that Bob Arum propaganda, you parrot. People who repeat after others truly make me sick. Half of the board just knew Hatton could beat Mayweather, the other half before that thought De La Hoya could. You people are ****ing jokes! That's exactly why Floyd doesn't have to prove **** anymore. Please go back and reflect on his resume you ****** novice.

Anyways, Williams would be a tough fight, but people pointing at his height need to watch the Mayweather-Tony Pep fight, who is a half inch taller than Williams. Floyd could beat him but he'd have to move a lot, which he would so I'd pick Mayweather due to Williams' inexperience and lack of rhythm. He'll find Mayweather, but not enough.

He's fought even above 147, at 154, and beat Oscar De La Hoya who is twice the fighter margarito is...

... well thats not true but its a much better win the Margarito would have been. Margarito is a tougher fight for mayweather then Williams is IMO. Both would be relatively easy
