I bailed out of my friend's 30th birthday party... and drove to a nearby lounge where they were showing the fight.. but it was on mute

So I'll have to see a repeat to evaluate the situation lol

This sort of thing is not new regarding this type of behaviour by English fans [and a lot worse]. Certainly in football [soccer], English fans have always been the worst culprits out of the 4 nations of the UK. The Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish have always conducted themselves better as far as I know.

That's obviously not to say all English fans are bad i'm sure, but it just seems the worst of English fans have the loudest voice.

The New York Post's George Wills did an excellent piece in today's paper, going as far as to call Mayweather a national hero for avenging the icon of a people who disrespected his home country.

There is competitiveness and then there is obnoxiousness.
That's really pushing it... last thing Mayweather represents is America... he stated the obvious, his game is all about Money!

Why do I expect any better? Because humanity is about civility and grace, neither of which was on exhibition in Hatton's sections.

yeah I know Tyrese took like 2-3 minutes just to sing the damn anthem. At first I thought he was going to forget the lyrics. You could tell he was a bit thrown off by being booed.

I then another article i read just said that the boos were just lingering boos from Mayweathers entrance to the ring and had nothing to do with the Anthem

And anyways, it was more of a boo for mayweather, it had nothing to do with the US as a country. They were booing the US anthem because for this fight, it symbolized Mayweather
              spot on..............

Well, that might be because David Haye doesn't have that many fans, but I agree, it's totally unacceptable and makes me feel ashamed to be English. It's my favourite anthem, too.

Don't get me wrong, but it's not unlike when Sgt. Slaughter beat the Iron Shiek during the Iran Contra situation and went from heel to hero. It's easier to like Mayweather for the way he conducted himself in the ring. When it comes down to true professionalism, just as was exhibited against Judah, Mayweather is all business. Never personal.

Maybe the booing and hostility towards america was due to the british not atually having respect for your nation and what it stands for? i mean you have to be a dumb american if you expect countries to respect the united states after whats happend over the past 7 years.

I aint trying to turn this thread in to a political one but im just making a point that the booing may have been a reflection of the feelings of the world towards america.
