I was incensed at the behavior of Hatton's Fans

I understand trying everything to rally your compatriate in the biggest fight of his life. But there are many more appropriate ways to do so than to boo the national anthem of a country that opened it's doors for you to support your fighter on it's own soil.

I really had no particular pick going into the fight, but when I saw the Hatton fans disgusting act of disrespect to the Star Spangled Banner, I wanted to punch the television set.

Ricky Hatton is a class act, a true gentlemen. But those idiots who made the long trip to spit on American hospitality, they need some serious lessons in ettiquette.

i read that Mayweather was playing to the crowd during the anthems, although i didnt see anything

I then another article i read just said that the boos were just lingering boos from Mayweathers entrance to the ring and had nothing to do with the Anthem

And anyways, it was more of a boo for mayweather, it had nothing to do with the US as a country. They were booing the US anthem because for this fight, it symbolized Mayweather

I can understand following up on your team/player, but that takes it a little too far.

It was so sweet when Hatton got knocked out though

I got nothing to cry about, I'm just voicing my opinion on what I felt was a group of hooligans giving their country a bad name.

The New York Post's George Wills did an excellent piece in today's paper, going as far as to call Mayweather a national hero for avenging the icon of a people who disrespected his home country.

There is competitiveness and then there is obnoxiousness.

When David Haye KO'ed Mormeck, I didn't hear any British fans making fun of French people. It's just a universally unacceptable way to act. This isn't a Manchester United game, it's an international event where international media is making notes of not just the performance of athletes, but the decorum of his fans.

and there are soccer fans and thats what they do. Boxing is a bottom of the barrel sport with two men hitting each other. Why do you expect any better?

They weren't Boxing fans, they were typical British Soccer hooligans.
