I cant believe Mayweathers fans actually defend his decision to retire.

he is BLATANTLY ducking Cotto and its SOOO obvious.

If Mayweather was a great fighter, or even a great champion, he would fight Cotto cause its the best fight out there for Boxing and for his Legacy.

I could understand if he said, "im gonna let Cotto get bigger before i fight him." but he just says **** all that, i want no part of cotto, im retiring cause its the easiest way out.

theres really no denying that all of that is true, and ur only gonna call me an idiot cause ur in love with Mayweather.

you need personalities for that show to work.

B Hops/Calzaghe would be good. It would be good to see what kind of training Calz actually does since his hands are so fragile.

Do you guys really want to hear how much money Mayweather has again? Or how many earthly possesions he has? Or how dumb his uncle and dad sound when they talk??? Just get in there and fight and make a name for yourself with your hands!!!! **** 24/7......

I'd like to find out what Mayweather would say to Cotto. What kind of jibing would he do to get under Miguelito's skin?

glad to see some people actually think outside the box ... its not even the fact that cotto doesnt speak good english ...tito speaks nothing but spanish but he got me hype as **** for the fight with ricardo mayorga ...

COTTO DOES NOT HAVE A PERSONALITY... HE CANT EVEN THINK FOR HIMSELF ... "ASK BOB" ...he sounds like a damn robot ...

look at it from pretty boy's perspective ... why fight a guy who is a high risk low reward ??? that is dumb as hell ... he made 25,000,000 against hatton , he would make like 8 mill against cotto ... cotto hasnt proved he is great yet ... he didnt beat shane mosley convincingly ...

there is a big ? mark after cottos greatness ... we know floyd is great ...

I'm just yes I would love to see the fight but Floyd is smart ...aint no money involved ... y do it right now ???

If cotto can clear out the division then , eh of course he will not have a choice to fight him ... but i dont see cotto beating delahoya or margarito OR WILLIAMS ...he beats those 3 people and hell, mayweather has no choice but to fight him ...other than that ... cotto is **** out of luck ...

floyd dont need cotto , ....

24/7 with cotto involved ....would = BORING ...

floyd aint going to trade with Cotto ... he would box him and pop shot him all night ...

Cotto vs mosley was a draw ... (you have your opinion and I have mine) ...

but look at it like this ....I think Cotto will get knocked out by delahoya, margarito, or decisioned by williams ...so cotto will not even be someone we will mention again ...

I think shane will end up fighting mayweather ...
It would be like Apollo Creed and Ivan (the Russian off Rocky)....

or like Rocky and Clobber Lane...

Mayweather's the star of the show. Whoever else is with him is pointless.

Oscar has a terrible personality, but yet is still popular.

Hatton's got a great one and it added a lot of value to the show.

Maybe Cotto isn't Hatton, but he's PERFECT fodder for Mayweather. Mayweather's a talkative, engaging personality while Miguel is straight-laced and quiet. But you know what? That's a great story to tell. Opposite ends of the spectrum yet they are the two best welterweights in the world. You can sell it like that plus sell it as the toughest challenge of Mayweather's career.

And for the idiots who don't think a fight with Cotto will draw, you're all clueless. Hatton has never been on PPV before and is virtually unknown to the American fan. Yet, him and Floyd probably did a million.

Cotto's actually a much more known figure and has had mild success on PPV.

And once again, Floyd's the draw here. Whoever you pair him up with for now on, it'll draw big.
