Cotto would proberbly beat Williams because there is so much body to hit but i think Cotto loses to Mayweather whereas Williams would Mayweather lose bad because this fight reminds me of Sadler-Pep in styles and stature. Sadler was a dirty brawler as is Williams and Pep is a defensive genius as is Mayweather. Mix to two and you get Sadler-Pep with Sadler coming out on top 3 times out of 4.
How did you come up with the bold? I have never seen Williams be dirty or a brawler. He throws a lot of punches if Williams was a dirty brawler the fight with Margarito would have been totally different. Please point out to me the things that made you come with Williams being a dirty brawler.

All that I know is that there's no telling what Floyd's plans are other than to build his company since he hasn't commented. I honestly don't believe that he's concerned with Cotto to that extent or gives priority to him over any of the other WWs. That's just a few of the fans thinking that.

At the end of the day, many people want to see it but you guys shouldn't keep reassuring by saying stuff like "it'll happen, don't worry". It isn't written in stone and Mayweather doesn't need Cotto. I reiterate, Cotto is not Floyd's Marvin Hagler. There is NOBODY around like that for him to cement his legacy. His legacy is based on his accumulation of accomplishments and a 31-0 Miguel Cotto who turned pro in 2001 is not a defining fight!

I think he respects the fact that Cotto is a serious match and he really has to get up for the kid and that being the case if he is going to fight him why should't it be for hige money. So by letting Cotto shine for the next 10-15 months he can make more money in the end if he still feels like fighting. But honestly why should he? If he goes out and beats Cotto, then people will bring up another name and say that he ducked him out. It is a never ending sort of thing. SO in the end, do what make you monst comfortable.

forgot to edit that i meant sadler was a dirty brawler and Willaims is a brawler. Williams ends up fighting on the inside and getting drawn in and not using his reach but hasn't caused him problems so far same as sadler. Willaims doesn't have the power Sadler has poundforpound but he has a similar style. See where I'm coming from? I can see a williams win.

Where do all of these weird theories come from? What evidence is there that Mayweather is worried about Cotto whatsoever, let alone obsessed about taking 2 years to prepare for him?

the problem with this plan is that while hes resting cotto will be fighting opponents tougher than hes ever faced. in these fights cotto could easily lose so now who does floyd fight? if you are the best you have to fight the best what if the patriots didn't enter the playoffs cuz they said they have accomplished all they needed? its ridiculous and doing a disservice to the boxing public.

There are no tougher opponents p4p at WW then Mayweather has already faced at 130/135 and against DLH.

if you are the best you have to fight the best
He's already done that. You can't keep doing it forever and ever and if he choses to stop, so be it. One thing he is, is the best right now and of this era, which is enough. If you expected as much from yourself as you do of Floyd, you'd probably be rich by now.

If cotto does lose then the one who emerges victorious of those 4 will be the one he fights. Hes waiting for another HUGE name

If Cotto can beat 2 or 3 of them and stays undefeated he will make a big name for himself. Right now everyone knows Floyd Mayweather. The average person..doesnt know Miguel Cotto. Mayweather is leaving the sport to let Cotto make a name for himself put his face out there so WHEN the two fight it will generate amazing PPV buys as opposed to now when cotto still isnt a household name.
So what ur saying is PBF is gonna pull a SRL! Like SRL took a 5 year break then beat Hagler??

Definitly some good points, it is pointless for Floyd to say active e****ially because he is late in his career and needs to heal up after an exhausting year.
If Cotto does beat Marg, WIlliams and Cintrion. (2 of the 3) then I expect Floyd to come back and fight him.
