I am constantly amazed how people think its easy to punch nonstop. Ricky is human, he needs to take breathers just like everyone else.
He is smart. He takes his breathers on the inside. You see, if he stepped out to take his breather, he would have to weather the storm again to get back on the inside.
If you actually watch Hatton fight, short of his obvious breathers he does not hold and hit very often.Comment

maybe because Hatton's gotten away with holding and hitting and wrestling his entire career BECAUSE HE FOUGHT IN ENGLAND WHERE THEY FAVOR THE HOME FIGHTER. soon as he gets to the States, what happens?
1) Collazo nearly KOs him
2) Urango hurts him to the body
3) he knocks out an already lifeless Castillo (but Cortez broke them up a lot in that fight too)
4) completely annihilated by Mayweather
nice run in the States, bro! take your sorry ass back to England and fight some more tomato cans, phony.Comment

He won all those fights and refs in the US allow body contact but Floyd had he ref set up for this one. He got away with everything and Hatton got nothing.Comment

Cortez was incredibly over the top. He was frantic.Jim Watt blasted referee Joe Cortez for his "deplorable" performance in Undefeated.
The referee came under fire for refusing to let the action flow as Ricky Hatton's dream of becoming the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world were shattered by Floyd Mayweather.
The Hitman was KO'd in the 10th round in Las Vegas and while Watt readily admitted that the Pretty Boy was just too good for Britain's finest, he was also quick to point out that the referee did him few favours.
"I thought Joe Cortez's performance was deplorable," he told Sky Box Office.
"Within five seconds he was breaking up the action and it was as if it was part of the plan.
"Every time they got together, before he even waited to see if they were going to throw a punch, he jumped in - and that suited Mayweather."
Watt was slightly happier with Hatton's performance, even if it ended in defeat.
He believes the Hitman did all he could, but at the end of the day, just came up against a fighter at the very top of his game - and the boxing tree.
