Matt Hughes is one of the UFC's best fighters. Here he is cageside last night, but instead of watching the action in the cage he was checking out Hatton-Mayweather on TV.

And as far as entertaining comes, both were very entertaining. It depends on what you find as more to your liking personally. Though, the battle between JROC and War Machine was crazy when JROC was going psycho all three rounds with elbows on the bottom; or the clinic of pain Guida put on Huerta for 2 rounds straight looking like a man possessed. It all depends, but the UFN was certainly not lacking in the skills department or even the reversal of fortunes in the fights.
wtf is up with your sig? Lyoto aint even close to the same style as Mayweather. which fights of his have you seen?

thats actually extremely funny to me. I really like Hughes. Along with Henderson, theyre probebly my favorite mma fighters. Theyre some of the few mma guys that dont fight like sloppy ass guys, and only use their striking to try and set up takedowns. I HATE it when mma guys try to strike, and looks so horrible. They need to only be using ground techniques, because thats what theyre best at.

I thought it was funny also. As soon as the event ended Hughes sat down to watch boxing.

Thats because both sports are good. I don't see why boxing fans feel so threatened of Mixed Martial Arts. People can enjoy both.

There are some good strikers in MMA, striking in MMA is just different then boxing. If you tried to strike like a boxer in MMA you would get ****ed up because the defense is totally wrong for that type of fighting. Just like if an MMA fighter went into a boxing match they would get sat down.

However there are good strikers. Like Anderson Silva, Mark Hunt and Jerome Le banner (who used to be signed with Don King until he ditched him after being undefeated as a pro boxer and went back to kickboxing).

I love MMA but to me the the Hatton and Mayweather fight itself overtook the Ultimate Fighter finale without doubt. It silly to compare them, ones a free card on Spike showcasing up and coming fighters and the other one is a massive boxing match on PPV between two undefeated fighters. Its like comparing the Superbowl to a preseason game...doesn't matter how good the preseason game is....

Overall the fights were better on the Ultimate Fighter finale because the undercard for undefeated was boring, but there was no where near the hype or interest level that took place on the Undefeated card....and without the interest level the fights can only be so enjoyable. There was a reason why Hughes sat down right after an extremely exciting main event finish to get back to watching the Hatton/Mayweather fight.

When someone says "oh they are just dry humping on the floor" it makes me laugh. Wrestling and Jiu Jitsu takes a long time to master, it takes decades to earn a black belt in many cases and thats just one small aspect of Mixed Martial Arts.

You have guys who are going on 30 years old and have been training BJJ for 20 years yet are still not even masters. You have Olympic athletes who have earned gold medals, much like boxing and have been in sports and competing since almost birth.

The Ultimate Fighter finale was far better then the Hatton vs Floyd card. Simply because the under card on Undefeated ****** horribly, while almost every single fight on the TUF finale was a good matchup that showed tons of skills.
I wouldn't be surprised if TUF finale had more viewers simply because it was on a free TV but there is no doubt that the night belonged to Hatton Vs Mayweather in terms of interest.

The ultimate fighter series is not that good, and to even compare it to literally one of the most hyped fights in boxing in many years is kind of ******.

Mixed Martial Arts is a new sport and there is FAR more to the sport then the UFC. The fighters on TUF are generally on beginners, like watching a boxing fight against guys who have 1-0 pro records.

Just because you are posting on "boxingscene" doesn't give you a right to bash another sport. Both boxers and MMA fighters are talented athletes who deserve the respect of everyone."
I'm an MMA fan as well but the fighters on the TUF show this year were nothing short of miserable. Im not even kidding, I can get a guy off the street and he could beat the living crap out of half those guys on that show. So I disagree that those fights took tremendous skill. Most of those guys have very limited backgrounds in MMA.

The fighters at the top of MMA have tremendous skills in my opinion. But the sport is getting incredibly watered down with wannabe tough guys with absolutely no skill.

There were two fantastic fights on the TUF finale. J-Roc/War machine and the Huerta/Guida fights were outstanding. But whats with the War Machine nickname. How old are they? 4 years old. Whats next? Are we going to get tag-team matches featuring the legion of doom and Harlem Heat?

Also people in boxing dont pay to see undercard fights. Lets be honest most people dont even attend the undercard fights. They wanted to see one fight and one fight only. THat was the Hatton/Mayweather fight and I thought it was a pretty bad ass fight. Great fight, great atmosphere. Some may think it was an ugly fight but most of my friends who prefer MMA over boxing LOVED the Hatton/Mayweather fight.

Undercards are more of a priority in MMA because of the duration of the fights. Fights can end in 30 seconds, 2 minutes etc.. ie) Rampage/Liddell.

Both are very evasive, elusive, and break their opponents down very systematically. That's the point I was going for. Don't bother to point out that their style of punching is different too, that much is obvious. Learn to take comments for face value. I did not actually mean that Machida was a carbon copy of PBF. No one can be a carbon copy of PBF.

Who wants to watch 20 seocond fights....

That Tito vs. Shamrock fight did it for me..when Tito just got on top and started punching him as soon as the match started.

                    MMA is CRAP.
