How did boxing do heah-to-head with UFC?

My friends and I bought the fight last night, but they also like UFC which was showing its free card. They kept switching back and forth which would piss any of us off. But the worst part was both main events started at exactly the same time, so I missed the entrances and announcements so they could see two guys in underwear dry humping for position. After the boxing got started, they started talking **** because of Joe Cortez, saying things like " That's why I hate boxing! " and " That's why UFC is better! " I tried to explain to them that UFC is a bar fight when they are standing up (poor technique) and wrestling for position when its on the mat. It takes way more technique, skill and timing in boxing. They laughed because of Ricky and Cortez at the time, but when Mayweather landed the perfect shot, they didn't say anything. Perfect example.

I have to say the undercards were pretty ****ing lame. Not in the match ups but the fight themselves. They look good on paper and thats it

In terms of viewers its quite obvious that Undefeated took it over the UFC Ultimate Fighter Finale. Was it more entertaining? I think anyone who saw both would agree Undefeated also took that as well.

I completely forgot about the UFC Finale, but Im glad because I will always choose Boxing over UFC. The undercard fights ******, but the Main Event was good.

Overall, Mayweather and Hatton's fight was very good and technical. The Ultimate fight night had great fights as well. Basically, this was a great night for both boxing and UFC.

side thought, you'll probably get a better reception in describing the UFC if you actually stopped describing the standup of all fighters in the general category of bar fighting technique. Obviously when you have guys from all sorts of disciplines, not everyone is going to be specializing in the punching department. It takes years and years of training specifically in boxing to get anywhere near the amount of consistent, crisp, and devastating punches that these guys train for all their life.
