It was a FLUKE that mayweather won!!! Hatton should of won!!!

The ref was a bad in the early rounds but i dont think Hatton can complain to much as he was beat fair an square. Mayweather was a very smart boxer in the inside and that threw Hatton without a doubt. Hatton took some major punches but i think both fighters have left the ring with a similar respect for each other, i also think both boxers won a few fans last nite too. I hope Mayweather is now graceous in victory in his post fight interviews as Hatton deserves some respect for stepping up to Welter to fight the No1 pound for pound fighter in the world and making him take a backward step early on and taking some massive punches late on. Defeat at the best of times is hard for boxers but i think when Hatton looks back on this fight he will reliase how big a task it actually was. Fair play to both men they entertained us well!

agree with the thread about ricky was winning until the ref ****ed it all up. cheat and tosser spring to mind when i think about the ref in that match but to be honest i think floyd would of got the better of hatton anyway as the rounds went on. He did use that elbow so much and the ref did nothing but floyd is just class and i respect him more now than i ever did. Fair play to ricky for stepping up to welter again after a bad showing last time against collazo.

Fair play to the lad. Best british boxer around but floyd is possible the best boxer of all time in my opinion.

it was a close fight untill the 8th round came but had that fight gona the distance it would of gone to mayweather by decision no dought about it

Its clear hatton was winning untill the ref upset hatton's rhythm. I mean how the **** can deducted a point for hitting the rope? wft he hit the rope no his head! Why the hell was meayweather allowed to get away with it? He hit hatton more times around the head than hatton hit him around the back of the head. Mayweather was also cheating by lowering his bead below hatton belt now are you allowed to do that in boxing? NO your not. Mayweather should of been deducted points for thats. It was clear the ref was on the pay role by mayweather. If it wasnt for the constant upsent in Hatton's rhythm he would of won!

Ricky deserves the same credit he always gets for fighting above and beyond his own abilities. I was surprised that he was matching up so well into the middle rounds. As always, I like the guy but he was never going to take this fight. It became obvious when he fell into long clinches without really connecting that it was a matter of time for Mayweather. Also, Hatton singularly failed to bodyshot Floyd when Floyd left his left side open to the wind (which he did constantly) during the clinches. Hatton never threw that right.
Mayweather is a superior fighter to Hatton. That was never a surprise to me.
The knockout was superb and WAS a surprise to me.
Credit to Mayweather.
Lets see him against Williams and Cotto and then we can REALLY start discussing legacy.
