Is Floyd An ATG?

I agree with that, it was a good fight money wise, but his performance was not all that great, I did not see nearly as much brilliant infighting as people have been spouting, and I am not really impressed that Floyd was finally able to get rid of Ricky Hatton after having battered the fatigued fighter for the last 3 rounds.
Many of the infighting moves the Floyd did were illegal, such as the move that initiated one of his brilliant combos. Pushing off with the shoulder to create space for his strait right hand. That is a foul, and Floyd should have been warned for it, especially considering the effectiveness with which he used it. Much more damage resulted from that foul than Rickys behind the head punch which warranted a point deduction.
But when you get down to it, Ricky Hatton was too small for this fight. Nobody even thought of Mayweather and Hatton in the same sentence before the fight was made. Everyone saw Hattons terrible outing against Collazo and assumed that Hatton had no future plans to move up to 147 again.
Despite his portrayal as a Floyd nuthugger, Dios is actually rather reasonable and Im sure he agrees with me that this fight didn't really show us anything. It showed us that he can rope-a-dope a smaller fighter for 7 rounds before turning on the offence and putting him away.
Nothing new there. This fight was a business move. It was not a real fight. Hatton had no chance of stealing Floyds belts. Anyone worth their salt knew this before the fight was ever made.
Cotto however, might have given Floyd a little more of a problem since he is a natural 147. Mosley probably would have been a harder fight. Hell, even Margarito would have been a tougher fight, You know why?
They are welterweights. Roberto Duran is the only pressure fighter that has realy managed to transition throughout weight classes with any measure of succes, and unfortunately for Rick Hatton he is not Duran. He is a good solid 140lb fighter. That where he should have staid, and I hope he goes back, because I love the guy,Comment

He's top 5. If he wins the linear middleweight title, he is the best fighter ever, no doubt about it. Nothing can convince me otherwise at this point.Comment
