    Thank You, Ricky Hatton!

Thank you Ricky Hatton for forcing Mayweather to fight. No shame in having a referee stop the fight and not give you a chance to get up and fight. Thank you for giving us the boxing fans a good fight, you gave floyd all he could handle and more.

Mayweather couldn't avoid fighting Hatton. Hatton was all over floyd like a fly on ****. I had Hatton winning untill the stoppage.

And anybody who talks down on Ricky Hatton should be shot and be forced to go and watch the ufc as punishment.

I've read some of the thread titles and posts all about hate towards Ricky Hatton. I for one give Hatton all the respect in the world he walked the talk.

Why the hell didn't Joe Cortez take a point away from Mayweather for using his elbow through out the fight? I swear the point taken from Hatton was bull****.

Hatton fans are some loud sob's, lol.

I agree. No idea Floyd be able to infight. Though, it just shows how much he's learned. Look at the Chavez fight he was so inexperienced with infighting. Castillo was tough, but he learned. He also learned from De La Hoya.

Now hopefully Floyd will watch the tape on this (He say he doesn't, but he probably does...) and learn how to get off them damn ropes.

            edit:

Wait no I don't. I had it 88-82 for Mayweather.

Though incase the first paragraph was sarcasm Billy threw the towel anyway so it would have been over regradless if the ref would have let the fight go on.

I agree there was no way he was winning the fight before the stoppage. I felt even Lederman's card was a little closer than I thought. going into the 10th I thought Hatton won at the most 2 rounds. He did force Floyd to fight and seemed to be more active at times, but he didn't land really anything significant except for a few shots the whole night. I give him respect for forcing Floyd to fight a different way than he usually does, but Floyd's just to good and Ricky couldn't handle it in the end.

I think half of it was Hatton's pressure and half of it was just Floyd wanting to fight more because Ricky is much closer to his size then Oscar & Baldy are.

I do agree about Hatton pushing the action though. So many people ripped me on here after the Oscar fight when I blamed the non action on Oscar. I said that he was wearing small gloves, fighting in a small ring, and was fighting a much smaller man. He couldve definatly made that a fight if he wanted to but he chose to box just as much as Floyd. Its his fault for not taking it to the smaller man. I said that Hatton & Cotto would never let Floyd just stay on the outside like that and it showed tonight.
