No excuses.

I did feel the point deduction was unjustified though. And Mayweather was just as dirty, if not dirtier. He had his elbow and forearm in hatton's face all day.

Maybe the point deduction was unjustified, but...a couple of things I noticed:

1. Floyd fought Hatton's fight for the majority until the 8th. I wouldn't have never expected that. He was out hussling him too. He'd landed cleaner blows and never really struggled like Castillo or Tszyu did.

2. If Hatton had done the elbow and stuff there would be no complaining except from Mayweather fans. Hatton was hitting on the hold and the back of the head. It was a dirty fight, but Mayweather got the better of him. You can't deny Mayweather's credit for fighting his fight.

3. I'm actually somewhat believing Mayweather's claim of not watching tapes. Not 100%, but I think he would have knew earlier to pop the jab in his face if he did. But man what an adaptation regradless.

4. The left hook for the knockdown...wow....I'd never thought he'd knock ricky down much less out. Sure it was technical, but he was done.

5. Well it's kinda a shame he didn't call out Cotto, and I'm not really sure if he's gonna retire. He said "I won't let the sport of boxing retire me" He never said he was gonna straight up retire, so there's possibilty for a Cotto fight I guess. Not right away though. Maybe in November or December again though.

6. No excuses from anyone. No Floyd was fighting dirty. No the ring was too big. No De La Hoya fixed the fight. No Ricky was a Jr.Welter. No nothing.
