Mayeb it's racism. Or maybe it gets white people to buy the fight and hope to see the guy get knocked out. Maybe both.

In general, maybe it's just smart/sad that it worked.

I agree on that though. It was wrong for what he said, but it will sell the fight.Thats positive.

It'd be different in the sense that a white person, in this country wasn't called "boy" in a disrepectful way until recently. Correct?

Nevertheless, I'd feel the same way about it.

Though, the odds of a white guy saying "A black guy will never beat me" and actually living that out, are worse. Due to the amount of top tier black athletes in the sport. So far, however.. Both Hatton and Calzaghe can say that. Which, in a certain way, I'm sure makes them feel good that in general, no one has beaten them.

I don't dislike Hopkins at all, just disappointed he would say something like that.

When he looks at Calzaghe he obviously doesn't see a boxer, he sees what he thinks is an inferior race and thats disappointing.

Hopkins, a STUDENT of the game. A guy who has watched NUMEROUS films of boxers, black and white.. You honestly think he believes that all white boxers are beneath him?

I mean, seriously. If you don't dislike him, then you atleast think he's dumb if you believe that.

I agree, it worked with Trinidad and it'll work with Calzaghe.

Good business move because he's just increased the fight's potential fractionally, perhaps significantly.

Even if I disagree with his statement, this is one white boy that can say "ima tax dat ass" and back it up.

I think Hopkins is a great fighter but I can't see him beating Joe, especially now hes getting on a bit at 42.
