I cant believe people keep falling for this crap that Manny and others are spewing. Its just pure Floyd hatred.
At WW Floyd has beat Zab, Baldy, moved up to Jr. MW to beat a Oscar who just destroyed a Mayorga that everyone is now sweating, and will soon beat an undefeated Hatton who beat a very good Collazo.
Tell Steward or any of the other haters to name 1 guy who's come close to doing that. Lets play the claim to fame game.
Cintron- only thing he's ever done is beaten Mathysee & Estrada who are both average at best and he was way way bigger then. Got straight up destroyed by Margarito but yet Floyd has to fight him to be considered great?
Margarito- Only claim to fame is beating a green overrated Cintron and a guy in Clottey who he was getting dominated by before the hand injury. Has like 6 losses including 2 to Santos? Just lost to a green Williams but yet Floyd has to fight him to be great?
Clottey- Only claim to fame is that he got disqualafied against Baldy before Baldy even became good. Then he gets beat by Margarito and lets him set punch records against him. Then he beats Chico but gets hit a ton in the process and has looked so average on many occasions but yet Floyd has to fight him to be called great.
Cotto- Last but certainly not least. This guys claim to fame is winning fights at 140 where he was clearly much much bigger then all his opponents and still struggled in some fights. At WW he's beat Quintana who's only solid win came against a green overrated Julio. He beat Zab after Baldy & Floyd beat him, after Zab was on a year suspension and hadnt won a fight in 2 years. He beat Mosley that was solid but his only real recent claim was beating a shot Vargas twice and he look totally old against Cotto.

There is no way that none of those guys resume even at WW is better then Floyds, let alone there whole career where Floyd fought prime Castillo's twice, prime Chico's, Chaves, Manfredy, Gatti, N'Dou's, Corley's, and I can go on and on. This **** is a myth that is so untrue. Not any of those WW's even come close to doing what Floyd has done. Manny just hate's Floyd because they compare him to Hearns and so on but if you want to talk about someone being overrated then look at Manny. The only fighter he has takened from scratch is Hearns and thats only because Hearns was a freak of nature. Other then that he always gets fighters after there already established champs and are already on top and then he tries to take the credit for them. 9 times out of 10 he makes them worst instead of better and they all end up being boring.
Then look at the size advantage. Your going to tell me Floyd is not P4P if he doesnt fight guys who are really 2 and 3 weight classes bigger then him. All the WW's are huge guys who shouldnt even be there. Again, they act like these guys are doing something by considering fighting eachother. Why would Cotto be scared of anyone when he's fought all smaller guys even at WW. Why would he be scared when he's already huge and fighting guys his own size. Its totally different. All of them WW's think there bad because they go down to there smallest weight and fight everyone smaller then them. Anytime they fight someone there own size they lose or barely win. Margarito is so average that he loses to Williams and when he moves up to fight a garbage guy in Santos he still loses but yet he's great? If Williams was so great then he shouldve dominated Margarito. If Floyd was his size what do you think he would do to Margarito? Thats what P4P means. Again, all these guys want to fight Floyd because they have all the advantages. There bigger, stronger, Floyd probally cant hurt them, they'll get there biggest fame, they'll get there biggest pay day, and they have a chance to knock off the best guy in the sport. Why wouldnt they be trying to fight him? Again, thats like Floyd dying to fight MAB. Ofcourse Cotto wouldnt hesitate to fight guys like Margarito when he's the same size and he know's that he's overrated. Its not the same as Floyd fighting them at all. Its like saying that Ricardo Lopez is a punk for not wanting to fight Jesus Chaves but Floyd is tough because he will. Ofcourse he will when he's the same size.
I still have to say this over and over again but I am just so shocked that no one looks at the weight factor. They look at his height & reach and think that he's a WW. Its a joke. Anyone with eyes can see that this guy should be at 135-140 but to prove that he's P4P #1 he has to beat guys who should all be at 154? I guess Oscar, Hatton, Baldy, Zab, Chico, Castillo twice, Chavez, Manfredy, G. Hernandez, C. Hernandez, N'Dou, Sosa, Mitchell, Gatti, G. Vargas arent enough and I didnt even name everyone. Its such a myth that those guys have a better resume then Floyd. Its not even close and they act like they should all still get major credit even when they lose. They dont have a better overall resume by a mile and they dont even have a better WW or above resume. Its not true. Floyd has fought way better guys. I wish so bad that Floyd could put on weight and come into the ring at 155 legitmatly but it wont happened. My guess is that he still will fight Cotto and then ride off into the sunset but he should be fighting guys like Pac, Diaz, & JMM. Would any of them have any chance of beating him? Hell No
