Five Most Arrogant / Five most humble

I wouldn't put MAB on any most arrogant list, but he doesn't come close to making my most humble list either. Like many Mexican fighters, he is a fiercely proud guy and his ego is revealed quite often. Just ask Morales. It's no secret that Morales and Barrera shared a powerful contempt for each other, but I've seen a number of interviews where Barrera disrespected Morales (le encantaba decirle "El Risible"), so I always got the impression that Barrera was more the antagonist than EM. It's hard to call Barrera a **** talker, but I think he's definitely more comfortable with it than Morales is. In MAB's defense, I do recall that he seemed to try to bury the hatchet immediately after their third fight, and Eric angrily brushed him off (too much pride to stomach that loss). So then MAB got fired up again and flashed the two fingers (signifying his two victories over EM) in Morales' face. Those guys will hate each other for ever.Wow, I can't think of any instance when Barerra has been arrogant. I mena just look at his back ground, he came from money and still decided to do what he loves the most.
The instance of him slamming Hammed's head into the turn buckle was because #1, Hammed picked one of the holiest days in the Christian faith to fight him and try and humilate him. #2 look at the fight and see the antics Hammed was imploring, slapping at him, talking to him, clowning around the ring with his hands completely by his side.
Hammed was an ******* and deserves the beating and humiliation he got. All that "There is no God but Allah" crap was mad disrespectful.

most arrogantAs has been discussed ad nauseam over the last few months, this weekend's fight between PBF and Hatton brings together two polar opposites in terms of fighting style and personality. Based on the reaction in this forum and in others, it seems clear that the personality contrast is the most interesting aspect of this fight. It is clearly what is driving the promotion of this event. Mayweather (okay, sure it's part show) is the insufferably arrogant, money-flashing ambassador of the hip-hop set, while Hatton comes across as the modest, working class everyman (yeah, that word was trite two months ago, but oh well).
Anyway, if this question hasn't been asked recently, I'd be interested to see a short list (top five) of who people think are/were the most arrogant and the most humble fighters they've seen. Feel free to add a justification or clarifying comments. Here's a quick and dirty list to start it off. I'm sure my list will change when I see some others.
Top Five Most Arrogant (in no particular order)
1. PBF Mayweather: -no clarification necessary
2. James Toney: - Will apparently never admit a loss and would kick the **** out of God himself
3. Antonio "Magic Man" Tarver : - arrogant and delusional
4. Julio Cesar Chavez : -one of my all-time favs, but his inability to acknowledge a loss or his opponents effort belies his enormous arrogance
5. Roy Jones Jr :- chapped my ass the way he paraded around for years (actually, he hasn't really stopped) declaring his P4P supremacy all the while dismissing many great fighters like Chavez, Barrera who fought and occasionally lost competitive fights.
Top Five Most Humble (in no particular order)
1. Mickey Ward : - every man's everyman (said it again). Humble to a fault.
2. Shane Mosely : - confident, but respectful. also very gracious in defeat
3. Jesse James Leija : - great competitor, great sport
4. Diego Corrales : - Confident guy, took losses with dignity
5. Ricardo Mayorga : - kidding really, but he did kneel down and beg forgiveness from a punk like Vargas (can't think of a greater act of humility than that)
Disclaimer: Race seems to be a big issue in this forum, so I'm certain that someone will point out that 4 of 5 fighters on my arrogant list are black and that there are no blacks on my list of humble fighters (from what I understand from some posters, Mosely and Corrales aren't at all black). Let me just say that my father was a Mexican-Irish mix and my mother was a black Puerto Rican raised in the Phillipines, so I believe that pretty much gives me license to praise and disparage pretty much anybody that I want. I am not, however, ***ish.

Thats a pretty decent list. I'll throw Tyson on both sides.
When he was a young pro he was the most humble and likable person. It was common after he knocked someone the **** out for him to go help them up and hug them.
After he got out of jail he was an animal. Biting holyfield's ear, all the **** he did to Lennox Lewis. All the **** he said to reporters. I remember one interview when it was a female reporter that asked him a question and he basically said "don't talk to me unless you want to fornicate"Comment

Calzaghe is ****y too.Yeah, I definitely agree with you about Darchinyan. Trust me, I didn't forget about Naz. I knew that someone would mention him pretty quick. I'm still waiting on Camacho (Jr and Sr) and Sweet Pea. Bottom line is that an exhaustive list of insufferably arrogant fighters would be closer to five million entries than five. The greater challenge is coming up with five humble fighters.
Kessler is more humble after the fight and he was like going to cry.
Mundine is ****y Saki Baki too.Comment

I tell you one: you're right, Naseem Hamed was (is) a moron. And probably he deserved that "punishment" against Barrera...Wow, I can't think of any instance when Barerra has been arrogant.
But take a look in Barrera's career. IN Barrera - Jones I he did a real bull****. I hate theese things. You have to see a boxer outside the ring (Mayorga is arrogant outside of it but inside the ring he's correct) and inside of it (Barrera's example).
Anyway, I have always hated Barrera
