The feud between promoter Gary Shaw and former super middleweight champion Jeff Lacy (22-1, 17KOs) may prevent a tentative clash between Lacy and Antonio Tarver (26-4, 19KOs) from going forward. The bout is slated to take place on April 12 at the St. Pete Times Forum in Florida. Showtime is expected to televise. [details]

im tired of fighters duckig fights b/c they dont like the other fighters promoter. good fights & money dont get made over this bull****.Comment

Gee, didn't see this one coming. *dripping sarcasm*
Shaw and Tarver are posturing, another excuse for Tarver to fight someone like George Blades.
If Shaw is angling for Dawson to fight Glen Johnson and the WBC has something to say about it, then he should have Tarver fight Diaconu (Dawson's mandatory), with the guarantee that the winner fights the winner.
That's the only way I can see Showtime justifying that they remain in the Antonio Tarver business.Comment

FYI.......It says in a small artilce in the St. Pete times today that Golden Boy assured Shaw and Tarvers people that Lacy will make the fight happen here in Tampa if Lacy beats Manfredo saturday......So the question will be can Oscar convince Lacy to say **** Shaw and put that bull**** aside and make the fight happen....I think Oscar can do that.Comment
