It's simple, as long as Hatton doesn't get embarrassed, and I know some people think he will, he will fight DLH regardless.

    Hopefully Floyd will fight Cotto.

If Hatton somehow wins (doubt it but anything's possible), he will fight DLH anyway. Cotto would have to wait until after that, and he could not complain about it.

I just hope Floyd does fight Cotto.

Cotto attended Mayweather - Gatti as well so I don't know what the big deal is. If this becomes a close fight the public will demand this match! If Hatton loses by a close margin, which if he doesn't win I think he will based on the amounts of punches he throws, rumors of Mayweather not handling pressure well will become solid.

Cotto and Pavlik are the best consistent pressure fighters today, Pavlik being too big for Mayweather, but Cotto presenting a serious treat. Cotto's win over Mosley has not only increased his marketability, it's proven his versatilly.

If Floyd retires, Cotto will emerge as the WW king and might well unify all 3 major belts. Floyd will be left critizing him from the sidelines until he has no other choice than to fight him. So what I'm saying is whether he fights Cotto now or in a year, it doesn't matter. Cotto will attract more money with more belts around his waiste though
