Win or Lose: De La Hoya-Hatton To Happen?

According to a BBC Sport interview with Ricky Hatton's lawyer, Gareth Williams, a bout between Hatton and Oscar De La Hoya has a strong possibility of moving forward in 2008, regardless of whether or not Hatton beats Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Dec. 8 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. De La Hoya's company, Golden Boy Promotions, is promoting the big event. [details]

I'm willing to bet Oscar wont recieve half the critizism that Floyd recieved for fighting Hatton.

Cmon, Oscar. Hang'em up already. Your trying to fight LWW's now? He should just stick to promoting, and let the real fighters do thier thing. Its as if he pimps the boxing world every Cinco de Mayo for another 20-30mil.

lol Yeah, cause only bitches who are natural welters fight middleweights like Hopkins.

Anyways, this fight should be that non PPV fight Oscar was talkin about having. And it shouldn't be the fight he leaves the sport after. If Hatton's anything, and what he will continue to be, win or lose on December 8th...is a tough young fighter. If he loses to Mayweather, wich will most likely be the case, he'll still be a name since this will be his first loss. Oscar should make this fight for free and for the public then if Paul Williams or Miguel Cotto are still around. One of those 2 fights should be his last.

At this point in Oscar's career...He shouldn't be afraid to lose to either Williams or Cotto, thats if he doesn't get old over night or some **** and has any sense of trouble with Hatton.

it could happen if hatton loses, but it shouldn't happen if he wins.
cotto to fight the winner of floyd/ricky either way, and theres loads to pick for the loser.

You're absolutely right. If this fight goes down I'm rooting for Hatton all the way, but Oscar should probably be favored, although it probably depends on how Ricky performs against Floyd.

Also, it would be dope to hear what Floyd would have to say about the last two guys he beat fighting each other.
