Hopkins is overrated if anything, he's just extremely smart.

Which is why he handpicked his last two opponents, he knew he didn't need athleticism or youth to beat them, all he needed to be is what he is.

This also brings me to the subject of the move up to heavyweight, remember that? But the only heavyweight mentioned was Maskaev, not anybody else, JUST Maskaev. He knew Maskaev was the only titlist that was made for him, which is why he wanted to fight him.

Then comes the current situation with Joe Calzaghe, I have no explanation and don't want to formulate an opinion either, I just HOPE that the low offer was just the early stages of negotiations between the two parties, otherwise what Peroxide is saying might be true.

First and foremost... the tarver that fought jones... would ANNHILATE Hopkins... jones lost all that weight and what happened? tarver lost all that weight, and what happened? its not a coincidence... its a REASON.... hopkins beat a dithered tarver, i still give props tho... but he honestly wouldnt beat calzaghe, the older you get, the less punches you throw, and with a guy like calzaghe, hes gonna outwork you, like youve never been outworked... hopkins just couldnt keep up with the output... no knockouts though.. just a big point spread...

AND calzaghe is aiming at winky, bot cuz he wants winky, but cuz hes telling hopkins.. i KNOW you want this fight... and if you want it... you gata PAY me... so hes calling out wink to let bernard know he means business...

The problem with Tarver that night was Hopkins! Tarver got schooled thats a hard thing for a man in his position to accept so he has rolled out the excuses and they just keep comin. You know why he couldnt get his punches off that night? Cause Hopkins is a master at fighting South paws. The movement he uses no one else replicates and that is why almost no Southpaw can beat Hopkins. Granted he is getting along in age and if he continues to fight it will catch up with him but there is, was, never will be a version of Tarver that could have beat Hopkins that night.
