Because Floyd knows it's the end of the line. Not only is the "hand injury" rumor a predispensed excuse, his whole statement is setting the stage for another retirement. He's already negated the idea of fighting Cotto (should he get past Hatton), throwing out the Arum excuse.

Floyd's cynical business plan of jumping around for weak title bouts and protecting his precious undefeated record is coming back to bite him in the ass. He can't defend 154 (Forrest, Mosely, etc..), so he retired and left the belt in the middle of the road. Now he cannot even defend 147 without quickly losing the "0"! ****, I seriously doubt he could stay long at 140 without getting beat. He should have never moved beyond 135. There he could have possibly cemented a legacy by cleaning out a division. Win or lose to Hatton, the party is over for Floyd. He knows it.

Floyd Mayweather may fight Cotto if the money is so incredible that he takes it as a swan song and a prayer and retires. Other than that, I seriously doubt we'll see Floyd fighting anybody else but Hatton before he retires (the rematch-trilogy stuff).

Paul Williams, Cotto, Margarito, Vernon Forrest ..........Floyd doesn't want to fight these men.

I think it's pretty obvious that Floyd is already making excuses ahead of time, he knows Hatton is very dangerous and deep down inside Floyd is scared. I literally started laughing when Floyd was crying and whining about his hands and back.

I hope both you and Wiley are able to laugh at how wrong you'll both, most likely, end up being on December 8th. Seriously.

If Hatton loses I will be a man, move on and get over it.

If Floyd loses there will be a massive suicide watch all over America, DIOS will probably jump off the Empire State Building screaming "I still love you Floyd" as he is falling to his death.

My post had nothing to do with December 8. Are you saying Floyd could defend 154 or that he'll stay and clean out 147 if he beats Hatton?

Technically, he has nothing to defend at 154. Furthermore, he has a chance to clear out 147. Just like Cotto, Williams, Margarito and Cintron do. Some better than others as a matter of fact. Keep in mind, NONE of these guys has to beat the others. Not all of them. Boxing doesn't work that way. Usually, some fight eachother and the weak get cut off. Then, the best fight the best. Hence the reason Mosley isn't even in the equation. I notice how you and I left him out.

Or, do you mean to tell me that he has less of a chance to clear out 147 than those other guys do? On skills alone, I realize you think he's the ducker of the century. I don't want to hear that record again (word to Hatton). I'mt alking about skills. You think those guys are THAT much more skilled than he is?

What do you mean "technically he has nothing to defend at 154"? He won a belt from Oscar. He retired and Forrest picked up the belt. So if he'd stayed at 154, are you suggesting that he would beat Vernon Forrest, Shane Mosely, etc...and successfully defended without losing the "0"? No. What you said was that he wouldn't have had to fight them at all! That's typical response by somebody who really understands Floyd Mayweather. Unfortunately the boxing public and the media would not stand for it and the criticism would have threatened his so called legacy.

Now at WW, if he gets by Hatton, the pressure is on for Floyd to fight Cotto. BUT, he's already thrown out the Arum excuse to negate that idea. So who's left but MARGARITO and PAUL WILLIAMS. Floyd won't fight these guys if he were offered 8 million dollars guaranteed. They're too risky to the precious undefeated record.

So where does he go after Hatton, assuming he wins? NOWHERE but down to 140. IMO Floyd is too egotistical to do that after all the world beating talk.

What's your take on life after Hatton?

I think he beats Hatton, then probably takes on Williams/Cintron/Cotto. To much money, not to.

I didn't say he wouldn't have to take on Forrest or Mosley. I aid he HAS at this point NO BELT at 154, Nothing to defend. Don't reword what I said. Don't. Don't even throw a question out assuming I meant something. I'll tell you what I meant, if I feel it's needed.

He will fight Cotto sooner or later. I will bet you all my points that the fight is atleast MADE in 2008.. I promise you. Too much money. Too much.

You need to quit with your attempts at trying to brush me off as a Floydboy. It makes your argument lose respect, because you come off as a hater. Seriously does and you always resort to it. Just stick to the topic, and quit trying to label me, or anyone else for that matter. I just call them like I see them.

I'm serious about the bet, too. I'll risk 40,000 points that the fight is made in 2008, atleast. What do you say?

I respond to the content of your posts. If that makes you feel like a "Floydboy" then that's your problem. When I call you "nutlicker" then you'll know that I'm referring to you as a "Floydboy", so don't put words in my mouth. As of yet, I have not referred to you as a "nutlicker". But, when you decide to jump up and categorically make an excuse for Floyd leaving the 154 belt on the road and retiring rather than defend it, then I'll most certainly consider you to be in the subject category. (because there is no excuse other than to admit 154 was too much for Floyd to handle without serious risks to the precious undefeated record).

As to your proposed bet: If you will take the time to actually read my post, you will have seen that I left open the possibility of Floyd taking a fight with Cotto if the money was incredible...that he'd do it as a "swan song and prayer" before retiring). So why would I make the bet?

How about you and I betting on Floyd fighting Margarito in 2008?? How do you like that prospect?

                      Good insight.

Dozens of hours of footage get crammed into 8 seconds.
