I worked in TV for years and i will let you guys in on a not so well kept secret... When doing casting for a show, whether it be reality or scripted, producers look for people to be in it who already fit a certain stereotype, because it's easier to sell products to people when you dont challenge their brains and just let them keep believing what they already believe, and TV is merely a forum to sell things. TV is not anywhere to form any opinion of any group of people. I think floyd mayweater is trash, but i do not think all black people are trash. That would be using terrible logic. if TV is your only exposure to black people, go experience the world, and be intelligent enough to realize that most TV is a created story, whether "reality" or not.
