Chad Dawson's situation is fustrating

I mean, there's no reason why the latter MUST happen on April 12. Make this fight, and if/when Dawson wins, fight Johnson in late April/early May.

Totally agree, why doesn't the WBC force Dawson to fight him?

He has tried to duck Diaconu for ages, first by trying to side-step him for shot Tarver, then, when Tarver ducked him, and Diaconu ducked him because of injury, he tried to get the WBC to recognise Mendoza as his mandatory...then, when WBC didn't play ball and reconfirmed Diaconu as his mandatory, Dawson tried to postpone the fight till the autumn of 2008. WBC said no again, saying he had to fight Diaconu by the 25th of April, but allowed Dawson to fight a voluntary by the 25th of January. Dawson however elected to fight Johnson on the 12th of April...so heis ducking Diaconu.

I don't think he's ducking Diaconu because he views him as a threat, I think it's because Dawson views him as a no-name fighter and is tired of trying to deal with him.

I also heard rumors that Dawson doesn't want to fight in Canada. If they can make the fight in America, I think Dawson would be less reluctant to fight him.

Perhaps...it's just a shame that Diaconu has been screwed around by Dawson for so long though...Dawson never wanted to fight him, always gunning for shot Tarver instead...so why didn't Dawson just drop the belt as soon as Diaconu won the title shot and saved everyone a lot of time?

dawson should go to germany to fight zsolt erdei. i know nobody else cares about erdie but he has a belt, has defended it, and has never lost.

the german boxing crowd will give credit where it is due.

he isnt gettin paid fighting george blades and danny santiago. sooner or later he will take a money fight and retire. it was as well be dawson.

glen johnson is still a nighmare for anyone, i bet 9 out of 10 LHW would rather fight dawson

Yes...it was only Hoye though...but very nicely done...Diaconu is limited, but he is a dangerous puncher with killer instincts.

From what I heard from Canadian posters it that Dawson and Shaw doesn't even want to negoitate with Interbox. Maybe if they tried negoitating with them they could maybe get the fight in America. The good news is that the fight isn't until April, so the WBC has enough time to change things I hope.
