Read the rest of this thread for my post of the video. Corley was as close to knocking Mayweather out as Collazo was to doing the same to Hatton.
no he wasn't, you cannot compare this to collazo and hatton as floyd went to the ropes and began fighting back and he didn't grab on for dear life like hatton did. and, floyd never went down in the fight like hatton did against collazo thus proving that floyd was never in danger like hatton was. but, hatton grabbing his opponents isn't uncommon anyway, it's what he does. floyd came back strong in the round and rocked the **** out fo corley with a right hand that was looped and should have got the knockdown. hatton was grabbing for dear life, floyd wasn't.
unfair comparison, and i mean unfair as in hatton's case. he was wobbled and grabbed for dear life and was floored, whether it was a knockdown or not(which it could have been), while floyd was never knocked down, he was just stunned, and corley couldn't do anything after he stunned floyd really seeing how floyd's defense was still good after being stunned.
Was Floyd trying to fight off the ropes in that fight?
yes dumb ass! floyd fights off the ropes a lot and rolls punches from there then counters you. He did it against de la hoya! he will be on the ropes (by choice) against hatton and he will counter him while hatton swings away and misses as his english people cheer thinking he's doing something when in reality HES NOT!

Why can't I compare the punches? Hatton was holding on for dear life for a matter of seconds - around the same amount of time that Floyd was backed up against the ropes and not throwing anything back.
The fact that Hatton went on the floor is pretty irrelevant since it wasn't a knockdown. You say it could have been a knockdown and you're right, t could have been a knockdown if boxing operated under different rules but it doesn't so forget about it.

Mayweather was trying to fight in the middle of the ring against Corley and only went to the ropes because he was in trouble. Bringing up other fights is pointless because they have nothing to do with that particular fight.

There's a difference when you know exactly where your at in the ring and know what your doing. and he threw from the ropes and hurt him. You're just trying to find any little thing to argue the fact hatton was just about out on his feet. you'd be ****** to say floyd was hurt in this fight. corley caught him every now and then but never was floyd hurt. get out of here!
