Tarver-Lacy, Dawson-Johnson April Twin Bill

Antonio Tarver (26-4, 19 KOs) won't avoid a fight with WBC light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson (25-0, 17 KOs, 1 NC). The fight will happen sooner or later in 2008. Dawson-Johnson would be a damn good fight. Dawson definitely wants to make a name for himself in this 175 pound division.

Funny it doesn't say anything about Dawson relinquishing his belt if he faces Johnson instead of Diaconu, I'm assuming he will fight his mandatory in January or February. Dawson needs to face Diaconu before April 25 or have his WBC belt stripped. And I wouldn't count on a Tarver-Dawson match up because Calzaghe could fight Dawson next if he beats Glen Johnson.

Glen Johnson is the mandatory to Woods. If he takes the fight with Dawson, he will give up the Woods shot. Im not sure how excited he is to fight Woods for a fourth time anyway.

Dawson would have a real tough time getting by Johnson. Glen knows that would be a fight to get him right back into the big picture at 175, no doubt. That would be one hungry, mean, and determined SOB for Dawson to deal with.

hopefully dawson will fight diaconu in jan then if he wins that fight johnson then calzaghe or tarver.
